Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 My wife is always looking for a bargain and I'll tell you this. Cheap ice cream is still pretty good but I still know... I know... the premium stuff... or Gelato... I know it's still out there. Every bite of the cheap stuff... I know it's out there. But I'll eat the Cheap stuff anyway because my wife paid for it.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Santana has to stop that crap. For real.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I feel sorry for the Twins Marketing Department. They cooked up these TV Ads for this season... Probably got them produced during the off season and then booked a schedule that is still running. However... With the play of the team on the field... the ads which aren't bad... look ridiculous. True, although they got what they deserved with the ill-advised 'Byron Buxton, Contact Machine' spot.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 let's sugarcoat the bunting flop.If Santana is that bad at bunting, but he's better at that than hitting, perhaps he shouldn't be here.
KirbyDome89 Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Santana has to stop that crap. For real.Seriously though...baby steps...he needs to learn how to bunt it on the ground first...then he can work on placing it...who knows maybe by the end of the season he'll lay down a successful drag bunt

LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 let's sugarcoat the bunting flop. Nothing screams 'Start of a late-inning three run rally' like a bunt attempt that has to have a flight plan on file with the FAA...
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 True, although they got what they deserved with the ill-advised 'Byron Buxton, Contact Machine' spot. They thought it would play better than stating his time in the "back to the dugout dash"

You can charge people to watch a four month long instructional baseball camp. Now if the Twins could just figure out a way to get the players to pay for attending...
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 True, although they got what they deserved with the ill-advised 'Byron Buxton, Contact Machine' spot. Yes absolutely And... And... the Joe Mauer for Governor... "Leading Minnesota Forward" Campaign is also questionable in hindsight.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I kinda snicker when an opposing manager makes a mid inning pitching change. Like it would matter.
Whammy Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 In 2027 we're totally going to have a "Hochevar" in our bullpen

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 What else would you be doing at 12:10 tomorrow, Dick?
David HK Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Well, had to step away for a while- and missed something that deserved notice. I. SWEAR. TO. GOD. If I see one more 'major leaguer" pop a god-forsaken bunt attempt up in the air------------------------------------- That is just baseball 1****01. How in the heck can you make it to the major leagues, and suck so badly at such a basic skill? My 50+ year old butt could get a damn bunt down fer crissakes.

alskntwnsfn Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Like surprises? Come on out to a Twins game. There's a 25% chance we'll win, and good seats can be had for less than $20.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 What else would you be doing at 12:10 tomorrow, Dick? Ahh... Early game tomorrow Gee... I wonder who Kansas City will throw?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 My 50+ year old butt could get a damn bunt down fer crissakes.Technically, that'd be a HBP.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 It's hard to polish a turd!Yup. But that's why the Twins still have Dave St. Peter. He can always find an alternative way to sell a team with 'differently abled appeal': http://ih1.redbubble.net/image.68115033.7829/flat,800x800,075,f.u2.jpg
twinssporto Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Question: What's the biggest upside to this really sad season? Just curious if there is anything I can hope for or if there is a silver lining somewhere.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Here's a look at Danny Santana's typical route to a fly ball
Platoon Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Ahh... Early game tomorrow Gee... I wonder who Kansas City will throw? I assume it will be one of the pitchers, not that it would matter.

David HK Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Technically, that'd be a HBP.Well, by Gum, even if I hit it with my arse, at least it wouldn't pop up in the god-forsaken air. (Dead cat bounce factor).
