Game Thread: Twins vs Royals, 5/24/16 @ 7:10 PM CT

[jimmer]

Is this team even trying to play sound defense.

[Platoon]

The Minnesota Twins have announced their new outfield lineup for the remainder of the season:

I just watched this the other night. Greatest hockey team ever!

[Aggies7]

I think Elisa cuthbert could get a hit tonight

[operation mindcrime]

Entering tonight we're 4-18 in our division!

[Platoon]

Get this young blonde scamp off the screen. Where's the old standby marney?

She was in ND last night highlighting the top ten spots in ND. Got to 6 and ran out. She should be back tomorrow!

[Circus Boy]

That's now 43 of 45 games in which we've trailed.

You always make that sound like a bad thing.

[Danchat]

I loved Tonkin's reaction to that horrendous play. At least on the next batter he was able to get the double play.

[curt1965]

I'm an old retired guy that has always looked to baseball and the Twins for some entertainment. This entertainment is like watching the Republican debates to see what crazy things Donald Trump would come up with!

Right now I'd hope the Twins start playing some guys who look like they care. What do I know, but to me that looks like Escobar, Grossman, Arcia, Nunez, and maybe Centeno.

[operation mindcrime]

Maybe Dozier should've worked on that last winter.

[Aggies7]

You always make that sound like a bad thing.

I would be interested in knowing the single season record for games having trailed.

[John Kelsey]

Even Santana was surprised he took a walk there.

[hybridbear]

Grossman has yet to be tainted by whatever cancer is in the clubhouse so he gets on base.

And where is everyone? Is the negativity keeping the regulars away?

I guess that's why someone suggested batting him lead off in the article I read this morning on here about batting order.

I loved Tonkin's reaction to that horrendous play. At least on the next batter he was able to get the double play.

It's shocking how poorly the defense is playing this year. I don't remember it being so bad last year.

[hybridbear]

Even Santana was surprised he took a walk there.

Hahahahahaha that's made me burst out laughing

[Aggies7]

Just did a quick scan of the 119 loss 2003 tigers.

After 44 games they were 9-35

And trailed in 41 of 44 games

So they even trailed in fewer games than the '16 twins

[Pardon My Dinger]

Yup. Home run by sano.

[hybridbear]

I want to hope that Sano will hit a 3-run HR now, but I know that a double play or a strikeout is much more likely...

[Pardon My Dinger]

Here it comes.

[David HK]

Now, this is how the game was supposed to look this year-  couple guys on, Joe at the plate, and hope in your heart.  And--  lo, he delivers.

[Riverbrian]

I make a motion to move the aaa team from Rochester to Mankato. Maybe then we could send a call in around the second inning and get a pitcher sent up in time for the 5th

C'mon Aggies

Move Rochester to Rochester

Jeez

[Aggies7]

C'mon Aggies

Move Rochester to Rochester

Jeez

Isnt Mankato closer?

[David HK]

Wow, Sano was totally out.  And they didn't challenge.  Whew.

[hybridbear]

Wow! Not a double play! Shocking! No surprise that he got another changeup there with how poorly he's hit them today.

[USAFChief]

I enjoy being able to hear one fan simply screaming his head off at players. You don't get that at places good teams play

[Aggies7]

So far I'm into July and the '03 tigers trailed in all but 3 games

[spinowner]

C'mon Aggies

Move Rochester to Rochester

Jeez

Heck, St. Paul. I hear tell they've got a nice little minor league park over there.

[David HK]

Exactly the same damn way he K'd you last time, Plouffe.

Sheesh.

[Pardon My Dinger]

Heck, St. Paul. I hear tell they've got a nice little minor league park over there.

You guys just don't get it, do you?

[hybridbear]

Time to bench Plouffe and start Sano at 3B. Enough with his terrible ABs.

[VandyTwinsFan]

Looking at the pitches on gameday, Volquez has a master plan for them, too.  Sano- junk, junk, junk= K.  Plouffe, fast, fast, fast, junk= K.  Brutal, just brutal.

It doesn't look like the plan changed much.

[David HK]

Too high?  What's with this 'too high?'
