Well, let's see, I think I'll PH the lefty here, against the lefty, instead of replacing my CF with a right-handed batting CF.  Yeh, that's the ticket....

Well, it was fun to come back. Who knew giving up 8 runs in the first would come back and bite us?

Is Pressley still supposed to be good?

He actually is a very good pitcher.  It's just that the stats don't show it very well

;)

The guy is killin' me.  Ya'd think working that gum so dang hard would get the brain-juices flowing, or some such.

Hughes v. Pelphry.

Another 2 hr ballgame, I'd bet.

It's funny because they are slow workers and they give up a lot of runs!

Daughter: Is Suzuki Fast Enough to try and bunt for a hit?

Me: Only a Harley could pull that off. And the bikers who drive them make fine husbands.

I have a Harley, they are not fast, and my wife would seriously debate the "fine husband" comment. :)

Crappy loss. Don't care so much that they came back. They stopped getting on base for the most part after the 4th.

Pat Dean, awesome job.  All the boys battling all the way, good on ya.  All you posters, what a roller coaster this one was.   It's not a Dinnah, but close- so I will award this special prize:

Late the party here as I clicked on the radio to hear Berrios was gone after 2/3 of an inning and the Twins were down a couple runs. (Cough) I immediately turned the station after a few choice adult words.

I decided to check the scoreboard, as there is definitely a masochistic part of me, to see how bad t really was, and to see if, at the very least, SOMEONE had done something good tonight. I tuned in just in time to see Park score the 8th Twins run to tie the game.

A couple points:

* I like the lineup construction better tonight, though I have a hard time not seeing Polanco back in the lineup tonight.

* Hats off to the team for not giving up and fighting back.

* Dean...WOW...that was actually a quality performance from a rookie in a tough situation.

But I would like to apologize to everyone out there in Twins land ands my tuning in to watch the remainder of the game obviously resulted in the pair of solo HR that will inevitably lose the game for us. I'm sorry.

A final note, was the umpiring that bad the entire game?

Watching the young players struggle reminds me that someone really wise (like Seth-wise but maybe not Seth himself) said that progress is rarely linear. Success in AA doesn't mean success in AAA and so forth.

Still, I've been reading about and rooting for these guys for so long and feeling like this could be a great year...it just makes me want to drink more IPAs.

The Umping was spotty but not anything we haven't seen before.

I'd like to say Hats off as well... but only partially off because Detroit made a comedy of errors to help us back in.

Dean is certainly getting pats on the back but it wasn't like he was mowing them down... He must have given up double digits hits in a little over 5 innings and a lot of screamers landed in gloves.

Other than that... Tomorrow is another day. Tuesday I believe  :)
