Reider Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Nice two out hits from Park and Arcia. Not sure if Escobar was safe or not at first. That was very close. I don't think Molitor wants to burn his challenge so early in the game with the lead.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Shutdown innings simply do not exist with this club.
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Still can't believe the Tigers gave Pelfrey 2 yrs.Still can't believe the Twins gave Pelfrey whatever the hell they gave him.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 What are the odds that Trevor May pitches today, since it's May Day? \m/ Don't forget May Day Milone.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 LOL. All that and still got the call wrong. At least they can't stall looking at anymore replays. Now if we can knock Pelfrey out, and blow our own challenge, this game might become watchable.
Reider Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I thought there was enough evidence to prove that Iglesias was safe. I can't believe the umpires in New York got that one wrong.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I don't know what the math says on the first inning challenge, but it seems like a play that would result in a run and an inning continuing with two runners on is a pretty high caliber situation to risk a challenge.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 And now Smalley! Yep, I'm definitely snoozing in 3...2...1..
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Guy walks into a bar, orders three beers, and alternately sips from each of the three until they're gone. He then orders three more. The bartender says, "Hey, I'm sure you'd like them cold, how about I just bring you one at a time?" The guy says, "No, bring me all three. I have two brothers serving in the military, and we made a vow to have a couple beers together every Saturday night until they get back safely." The bartender thought this was great, and from then on, gave the guy his first three beers on the house every Saturday night. One Saturday, the guy walks in and says to the bartender, "Make it two tonight, Joe. Just two." The bartender just goes white as a sheet, and when he brings the two beers, he offers his sincerest condolences. "Geez, I couldn't be more sorry to hear...one of your brothers didn't make it, huh?" The guy looks up, confused for a minute, and then says "No. No, no, no. My brothers are fine. My wife made me give up drinking."
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I looked up the math. The Iglesias challenge:If safe, run expectancy .91If out, run expectancy .28Challenge in order to gain .63 runs expected. The Escobar challenge:If safe, run expectancy .43 plus 1 (run scores). If out, run expectancy 0 (end of inning).Challenge in order to gain 1.43 runs expected. Now, I don't know what the break even is should be, but it seems like Molitor should clearly have challenged.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Just needed to make some contact... Put in play. Uff Da
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Dick is right about that. Arcia could swing at that pitch 10 times and whiff on all 10.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Haha are we really not going to score here?
amjgt Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 We wouldn't have won the Escobar challenge. He MIGHT have been safe, but I didn't think it was very clear. His right hand was already past the bag by the time his left hand touched the bag. Bad slide by him.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Ugh. Twins have guys on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. They end up with zero runs. This has happened way too many times this season. This is another reason why they're not winning games.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Bahahaha how pathetic. Just one guy needed to make contact. Just one. Pathetic.
Foghorn Leghorn Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Still hoping Brunansky gets canned at end of season, getting no runs there is embarrassing.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Who thinks the tigers are putting up a 3 spot this inning after that colossal failure?
Twodogs Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 It is really frustrating watching the twins constantly strike out in important situations
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Now the comedy routine moves to the field. Just so bad.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Who thinks the tigers are putting up a 3 spot this inning after that colossal failure? Not me! It's gonna be a big goose egg for the Tigers this inning.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 That out ended up being more interesting than a normal F-4
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Gladden going off on a rant against the shift again.
Foghorn Leghorn Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 What exactly does Santana bring to the table that Buxton does not? Santana should not even be on the roster let alone starting
Twodogs Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 All these guys that get shifted all of the time, Molitor should probably sit them all down and teach them how to bunt. If Arcia could put a bunt down towards 3B at all and everyone would have been safe. I know bunting isn't sexy but if they are giving it to you?
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Whoa, Sano actually blew that tag. Cabrerra's foot was on the bag before Sano's glove contacted his leg. How do major league ballplayers keep making that mistake? All you need do is put your glove in front of the base, and there's nowhere for the runner to go. That, and keep your damn glove on 'em, because half the time they slide right past the bag...
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I don't get how that play wasn't recorded as an error. Dozier clearly erred on that play, but they ruled it a single. ???
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 What exactly does Santana bring to the table that Buxton does not? Santana should not even be on the roster let alone startingHe gets on base more than once a week
