Hawk lives on the border of Indiana and Michigan, and is quite a ways away from the home park.  I think the logic is that he can go on the road, stay in the hotel there, and just stay home when the team plays in Chicago.

 

As a resident of the Chicago TV-shed, I would just like to propose that he never leave Indiana and allow someone less ridiculous to call the games.  Which means just about anyone could do the job, except Ed Farmer.  Jerry Reinsdorf's loyalty to his employees is unquestionable, and painful to experience as a listener.

 

I drove that stretch of Indiana multiple times. The Roads were terrible... truck tires and dead deer from months ago piled up on the roads. 

 

Now I understand... It was Hawk's fault.

The rain is really light.  It won't be done until 6pm eastern or so, but they can likely play through it.  Probably should have just started on time.
