My kind of dog. When you fry them all the way, you lose all that wonderful hotdog taste and get a burnt taste instead. Now I'm not saying burnt is bad ... it's okay as long as it's not mutilating a perfectly delicious dog. But if I eat a hotdog, I want to taste that hotdog.

And I'll reiterate: absolutely NO ketchup.

 Also this.

This hot dog debate is HEATING UP! Dinger, always, and North prefer their dogs boiled... Myself and Craig prefer open flames... I hope Brock is taking notes for the TD Meet-Up!

You know ... Dome Dogs were boiled ... in water they held over from year to year. It just makes one kind of leery. And being from Chicago, I can say for a fact to just say 'NO!' to the bright green relish. Over time you can tell who eats that stuff because they glow at night. All one needs on a quality, grilled dog is mustard, grilled onions and sauerkraut.

Now that I cleared the air on that, I have a question ... being one who isn't exactly young, and knowing that time is precious and should never be wished away, this season already feels months old and is making me feel way older than I am. Short of just leaving all of this behind what do you recommend one do to normalize this time issue without grave consequences?

I think it is pretty common knowledge that the dome dogs were boiled in water that was from the pure snow deep in the boundary waters and made from free range cows that were fed strictly on wild rice and wild blue berries with an occasional walleye snack (cows love fresh walleye).

i'd always heard they came from free iron range cows ...

All beef wiener (Winnipeg Old Country),  boiled and slightly fried to ensure some snap and a little grease.

Chili (not con carne)

Mustard

Onions (not fried)

Pickles

That is all.

If ever in Winnipeg, this is THE place to get a hot dog.

This is why Brock needs to add a dislike button.  Minus the all beef hot dog, there's nothing good about those toppings.  Though I must say the idea of frying a hotdog is worth trying... but boiling?  I'd rather microwave it.

Sorry, but I am not a chili dog guy. Tell them that's wrong, Van Man.

I suppose you people also enjoy Reese's peanut butter cups?

I was with you until you defamed Reese's.  Chili is just disgusting.  But hating on a Reese? Wrong, just wrong.

I'm more of a Brat or Polish Sausage guy than a hot dog guy, but once in a while I will buy some hot dogs skin on, either grill or fry them in a frying pan and put some nasty Hormel Chili without beans on them suckers... with a bun of course. It might sound gross, but it is good to me in a nostalgic kind of way from my youth.

I'm probably pretty on course with ChiTown with the Polish Sausages and Bratwursts topping wise, but sometimes when there is a strange wind blowing through my neck of the woods, I will put coleslaw on them, especially Cheddar Brats I buy from the local meat market. It's actually pretty damn good.

The way I see it, ChiTown can either subtract sauerkraut from her rider, or change her name to MilwaukeeTown. Not a hot dog topping.

It is on a quality, hand-stuffed, pork hotdog.

So...option B, then?

No option B ... on a good quality, grilled dog ... I like mustard, grilled onions and sauerkraut.

I have found when dealing with age and time, it's the grave consequences that eventually get you. I had considered the thought you might have already left your earthly realm, and watching the Twins was Satans cruel idea of Hell. But that would put all of us in Hades. I myself would consider such a destination well earned. But what if the innocents on here, the True Believers! Those who are sure the team will right itself, and contend for a WS flag. Certainly they don't deserve this! Such purity of heart deserves far better! :)

Welcome to the grilled dog team, ChiTown! Slowly but surely we'll convert the boiled dog folks into believers of the grill marks!

To answer your question, you are right, this season does feel like it's months old already. Personally I hope it makes me feel older than I am so I can finally grow a nice beard! Some may want to feel younger, and are getting more gray hairs than they would like watching this team. If you REALLY want to start feeling younger, we have a few suggestions:

- Start a Tinder account. Nothing will make you feel like you're back in your 20s than swiping right to hot dude bros on Tinder.

- Engage in weekly happy hours. All young professionals survive the work week until Thursday. Then the party begins! Bonus points for taking shots, or staying out past 2 AM.

- Do something EXTREME! Have you ever gone skydiving before? Maybe it's something to try! The adrenaline boost will most certainly make you feel younger.

- Buy a puppy! Your new found love for a fur baby will take all of the stress from Twins baseball away.

Hope this helps!

Kraut properly made, goes on anything. Nothing is as good as Kraut on a fresh walleye sandwich! And no, you do not take the kraut from the can, and heat it. :( Ugh!

I'm going to have to back track on my original post of nothing mayo related on my hot dog. Because you, Bark, just reminded me of coleslaw on hot dogs! They're a southern treat here in TX, and oh so delicious!

I'll second the puppy. But only if you can really spend time with them.

Thanks for the quick answer! I must be a witch to know exactly the right time to call and not be on hold forever waiting like everyone else. Or else I'm just that special.

No to Tinder. Feeling younger doesn't mean going back to the age of confident I know everything when I really know little to nothing. So that would also include the happy hour and shots thing. I'm not so old that I've forgotten what the morning after a night of tequila shots feels like. I've forgotten the night itself, but then I never remembered it. The tequila shots were preceded by some Long Island teas. Yes, some. So you can understand my memory lapse of that evening, but I still remember the morning after. Sky diving is a true rush! Been there, done that, highly recommend it. A puppy? Hmmm ... maybe a cat ... you know, one of those hard to adopt rescues. One day. Not ready for a new furbaby quite yet after losing my 21-yr-old. So, I think what this tells me is I need to just not watch so much baseball this summer!

We are not debating the merits of sauerkraut! I suggest you start a sauerkraut thread. This is the hot dog, er...wait, what thread is this?

Sometimes even the host doesn't know what kind of show this is. That's the beauty of it!

What you're experiencing is a sudden and unexpected return of youth. It's been so long you don't even realize it ... but remember those days as a little kid when time dragged out and it took a lifetime to get from one birthday to the next? And when you got older the years flew by faster each year until birthdays didn't really mean anything except that people had higher expectations of you than before. I may be wrong as I'm not even close to your age yet, so perhaps it's normal for time to slow down, but I think that spell you cast to make you immortal like Chief actually worked out just fine. It'll just take a little growing used to.

Next on the to-do list:

Tinder was such a huge thing in the '80's, wasn't it. :)

After you BOIL them and get them all prepared, throw some real cheddar on top and throw them under the broiler for a couple of minutes.......yowza!!

Question, so do you carcinogenic hot dog fans prefer grilled bun or not grilled bun?

Discuss.

North, this is why your brilliance is needed on this show! We were so tunnel-visioned thinking about the preparation of a hot dog. The bun plays a significant part in a good dog, and for me, I love a grilled bun.. You'll never worry about a soggy bun again!

And a plain white bun only I might add. Any place tries to serve me some whole wheat, multi grain something or other, I'm opening up a can of whoop ass!
