DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Should have left Duffey in. Instead we get another loss due to questionable managing and a terrible pen
formerly33 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Riverbrian, you once said that "the 2000th post must contain be a paragraph with references of Herbert Hoover... A blender and kidney stones." I accidentally hit 2,000 without realizing it. How about the 2,002nd?
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Too damn many BP fastballs. Well, that's young pitchers for you. And inexperienced managers. Molitor should have yanked May after the first walk.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 I would have brought in May. It's the right Managerial Move. It just didn't work.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Theoretically the right man for the job. What a drag.

mikeee Provisional Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 That reminds me... I've been planning on participating in a game thread after heavy drinking. I still need to execute that plan. I am working on it... lol

Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 The way they were swinging and missing on breaking balls, I wouldn't have brought in a fastball pitcher. That's just asking for it.
Blake Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 My wife and I had to go refrigerator shopping today. I got home just in time to see the Twins were up 2-0...Houston had the bases loaded, two out...and then the grand slam. My timing is either great or poor, depending on your viewpoint.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 I would have brought in May. It's the right Managerial Move. It just didn't work. I agree. I think May was the best option and it just didn't work. I'm not going to chalk this up as another management failure.

Jham Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Managing rookies isn't straightforward. Duffey or May?
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 This has been an absolutely sick inning.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Fire Paul Molitor, showing up your third base coach and third baseman on an inconclusive play is pathetic. How many games is he going to decide not to do everything in his power to win. Yeah the end result would have 99% of been the call on the field but it's the 7th inning. That is complete incompetence.no the players always think they are safe. Plouffe let his passions get the best of him. Plouffe will see the play later today and apologize.
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Why NOT challenge? You don't want to run out of challenges in the 7th, thanks to not challenging that they also had a chance to not challenge the grand slam!!!

I agree it was the right move, but Molitor has been around baseball a long time. He should have seen that May's head wasn't right when he stepped on the mound. Should have yanked him for Casey Fien after the first walk. Fien isn't perfect, but at least he's a veteran.

mikeee Provisional Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 well, we just need to score some runs...
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 I would have brought in May. It's the right Managerial Move. It just didn't work. Not if you have the gift of hindsight, then it was terrible, and I can demonstrate this.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Why didn't they bring in Cotts? They knew that the only thing the Astros could have done was counter with Mr. K George Springer.there is something to this but I'm waiting for the "fire Molitor" thread to try to explain what I think happened
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 no the players always think they are safe. Plouffe let his passions get the best of him. Plouffe will see the play later today and apologize. Third base coach who was right on top of it saw his foot was off as well. It wasn't off by enough to overturn, but the last replay seemed to show he was off by a hair. Put it this way no chance the call would have been reversed had it gone in the Twins favor, but I actually think there was a small chance the Twins would have won the challenge.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 WOW!!!! The hatred coming out!!I fear to think what the reaction would be if it was Fien instead of May.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Author Posted September 6, 2015 Well, that was something... Um. CBU Houston 5, Minnesota 2 After 7 innings. And Mr. May is learning the hard way to come into the middle of an inning?
mikeee Provisional Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 WORK SOME PITCHES AND GET THIS GUY OUT OF THERE!!!
