They just showed the slo-mo of Escobar's swing. What a beautiful adjustment he made, delaying his release for a click, but keeping the bat cocked really tight. Quite a piece of hitting.

It isn't dead, but wings don't always live up to their hype. Especially hyper hype.

Escobar makes it 2-0.

And these festivals are large numbers, making the individual attention that makes food best a bit difficult.

Meanwhile, the home plate ump hasn't given Duffey a single strike over the left side of the plate. He's making Duffey throw the ball fully inside the zone, while Dallas Keuchel gets strikes called _three inches_ farther outside.

Not saying it wasn't a hit...no way Plouffe gets Altuve if he fields it cleanly.  Someone said maybe it should be an error and I said if anything, maybe a single and error.  But Plouffe had to lay out to get a full glove on it.

With All due respect, this is like saying a hard hit to the SS that he has to reach for or dive for , that is deflected and the runner makes it to second, should be an error.......it never is and never should be, you cant assume that it should have been stopped , unless hit closely to him then it is an error all the way, never a hit and an error.........unless someone can tell me if this has ever been called, i dont believe it has.

Yeah, kinda like it.

It's why it's a snack food, and spiced up the wazoo for the spice's taste, rather than to compliment its substance.

And that's why eating 15 of 'em is no big deal.

Brian, I have learned a lot from your food travels this summer. Nothing is as good as advertised on 1/2 hour TV programs. The food dream is dead.

It's the weird stuff on Triple D that's dead.

However... The Iconic stuff is usually Iconic for a reason.

1. Maine Lobster -- It does taste different then the Red Lobster Lobsters in South Dakota... I don't know why or how but the difference is incredible.

2. Katz Deli New York - They can make a sandwich

3. Cincinatti Chili - Brilliant Idea... Do it 5 way

4. Italian Beef Chicago - Worth the funny stance you must take to eat it.

5. Kansas City Barbecue - Without it... You'd drive right through and not stop.

6. Texas Brisket -- Served on Paper and just fantastic.

7. Minnesota Casserole - I haven't had a good casserole since I moved away.

Is that really a thing? It sounds just ridiculous enough that it probably is.

I admit I did a google search and came up empty. If I would have found something... I'd consider attending.

As for Berrios' name. For years I think people were pronouncing it like "Cheerios"

But this year the word came down that it's:
bur-EE-os

I thought it was Bear-E-ohs, so maybe i learned something today. So James Orenthal Berrios?? ;) LOL

Nice work by Duffey. This guy is a good pitcher. Why did we not hear anything about him before he came up? He's very good!

TR was praising him like crazy last September on an Inside Twins with Cory Provus.

I think we're having a wire crossed in interpretation of messages here...

--It was scored correctly at the game.  Definitely a double.

--Someone said as the play occurred that it should have been an error.  I said that it was definitely a hit because Altuve is too fast for Plouffe to have gotten him if he comes up with the ball.  **IF** you wanted to be persnickety and give an error, it would be because Altuve got to 2nd and then you could say single AND an error.

A number of years ago I found a passable imitation recipe on the internet. It's about the only beef meal loved by a member of my family who's nearly vegetarian.

Reminds me of one my favorite Hedberg Lines.

Whatchoo talkin bout Willis?

I stand corrected.

I guess i've just eaten wings as snacks late at night in lieu of a full meal, and probably from an establishment making their money on the beverage to drowned the ultra spicy flavor...

My thoughts should be put in the same place as "popcorn does not a meal make" advice.

"Just speculatin' upon a hypothesis. You know i don't know nuthin'."

So I made the 6 hour trek to Buffalo yesterday for the National Buffalo Wing Festival.

Here's my Conclusion.

1. While most would be put off by the drive across Michigan and Southern Ontario. I like long drives so to me it was like a Sunday Drive on a Saturday.

2. As much as I love Buffalo Wings and I do... I love them enough to drive 6 hours both ways for a festival. As much as I love them... Hot Wings outdoors on a 90 degree day is a bad combination. Unless you like sweat and wing sauce all over your clothing. It ended up fairly uncomfortable.

3. Wings start tasting the same after 15 of them.

4 I'm glad I did it... But I won't do it again.

5. I'm having Hamburger Helper for Lunch today

Rib cookoff in Reno this weekend. I can't make it down there, but number two son is in town for the long weekend and will sample the wares.
