jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 That's more like it. Extra E has remembered his out pitch. Let's see 60 percent curves all day!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Author Posted September 6, 2015 CBU: Second verse, same as the first. Little bit louder... Er, i mean scoreless tie. It's quite formal and unscratched.
FattCrapps Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Wow I guess only half of the plate is part of the strikezone (for Duffy) update: Keuchel just got the strike call to Buxton on the same pitch Robots please
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Buxton seems to be hitting the ball well.
mlynch16 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 So far, every right handed hitter has seen a first pitch fastball over the outside corner. Hunter is the only one to swing at it, and the only one with a hit. Let's start going the other way and hitting the ball hard to the right side.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Damn, Buxton slugged that one, but too much air time. Good news is, he's finding the ball. Won't be long now before he starts racking up hits.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Did you see Zuke frame that baby?
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Keep throwing those curves, baby. They can NOT handle it.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Shoot, that's an error on Plouffe. They didn't call it, but it bounced off his glove. Error.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Duffey showing no nerves today and pitching very well!
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Shoot, that's an error on Plouffe. They didn't call it, but it bounced off his glove. Error. They don't give out errors anymore unless it's egregious. And even then, the hitter will call the press box and whine about it. Agreed that it should be a single and an error to allow Altuve to get to 2nd. But, no harm done.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Author Posted September 6, 2015 Dozier doin' it.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Dick's wrong about Duffey's "get me over" curve. Hitters lay off it on the first pitch because they can't hit it, not because they're looking for a heater. Most major league hitters won't swing at a first-pitch curve, but Duffey's is better than that.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Who was saying something about swinging at the first pitch on Keuchel?
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Whoa, Dozier hammered that ball. How far..?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 So I made the 6 hour trek to Buffalo yesterday for the National Buffalo Wing Festival. Here's my Conclusion. 1. While most would be put off by the drive across Michigan and Southern Ontario. I like long drives so to me it was like a Sunday Drive on a Saturday. 2. As much as I love Buffalo Wings and I do... I love them enough to drive 6 hours both ways for a festival. As much as I love them... Hot Wings outdoors on a 90 degree day is a bad combination. Unless you like sweat and wing sauce all over your clothing. It ended up fairly uncomfortable. 3. Wings start tasting the same after 15 of them. 4 I'm glad I did it... But I won't do it again. 5. I'm having Hamburger Helper for Lunch today

And even then, the hitter will call the press box and whine about it. Agreed that it should be a single and an error to allow Altuve to get to 2nd. But, no harm done.I believe the standard is that a player should complete a play that requires ordinary effort. If Plouffe snags that ball it's not an ordinary play, so no error.
blairpaul715 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 That ball that was hit to Plouffe was no where near an error, if he even makes the stop he probably loses balance and cant throw out Altuve.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Sano better learn to hit the off-speed stuff because that's what everyone is going to throw him. Can't be another Pedro Cerrano.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Yep, Dallas Keuchel is getting calls off the outside corner. Duffey is not getting the exact same spot.Bad ump, bad.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Nice shot by the Doze. Meanwhile, if the ball doesn't bounce when Keuchel pitches it, it's a strike. If it does bounce, odds are the ump will say the batter swung. Or maybe I'm biased. But I doubt it.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 That ball that was hit to Plouffe was no where near an error, if he even makes the stop he probably loses balance and cant throw out Altuve. Yes, but Altuve doesn't get to 2nd base. Hence why I said single AND an error.

blairpaul715 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Yes, but Altuve doesn't get to 2nd base. Hence why I said single AND an error. That play has never been called an error.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 BTW...not to worry...Hunter's got this.iswydt

blairpaul715 Verified Member Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 I will say tho, that official scoring is not as tough as it use to be, but still that was a hit all the way.
