All we need is back to backers.

That indeed woulda done the trick.

But we'll have to wait until next time.

And tomorrow we see Kansas City, which is a mop of a different bucket.

Thanks for the company!

I can't fault Paul's decision to not challenge the Plouffe play at 3rd and May should have been the right call in that situation in the bottom of the 7th.

Great teams lose games like this, it's just the nature of the game. The Twins are an okay team.

The rest of this season, one would hope, will be walking the tightrope each and every game, because that means we are still in this thing.

We were beaten by a good team on their home field, shake it off and back at em' tomorrow.

Agree with you on this.  It's just frustrating to have the best pitcher in the AL beaten on his home field and give it away like that.  Games like this one make it excruciating if they miss the WC by a game.

I hear you TwinsCD. These losses hurt like an SOB and will probably make the rest of my day less better than it could have been... but no need to panic yet.

I just saw the lady across the street fall off her porch. That made me feel a little better.

I don't necessarily have a problem with that. I have a problem with making Escobar sac bunt when he's been our second best hitter in the past 20 games. Let the guy swing the bat.

Was at game. No longer a scoreless tie. CBU.

Which Star wars character were you?

(Couple of us asked early on, and Bark even hypothesized in image form, but at least i forgot you were probably disconnected from TD...)

On a more serious note, a couple observations :

1. The Meltdown started with a base hit allowed to Carlos Gomez on an 0-2 pitch. Is there any reason that should happen?

2. I didn't like the bunt from Escobar. But then I don't like sacrificing.

3. It's not Molitor's fault May didn't get the job done. He was the right person for the job. And it was the right call to pull Duffy as well. Maybe even one hitter too late.

May is the best pitcher in the bullpen. But he does have a history of wildness. Coming in to a tight game late with little room for error, on the road, was definitely a recipe for trouble as soon as he started missing.

When Lowrie was sitting 2-1, I was thinking to myself--honestly--Lowrie has to be sitting on a fastball down the middle. May clearly wouldn't want to go 3-1 with the tying run on 3rd.

May needs to be able to convert in that situation, and he could learn that. But I'd rather see him starting.
