Please get Gibson out of this game.  Yankees don't swing at anything unless it's over the plate and he doesn't have the power to blow it by them.  Keep nibbling and nibbling, they won't bite and then he's looking at constant 3-1 counts.

Should have traded Gibson for Tulo when we had the chance. He looks like **** now.

I can't wait until about 2 years from now when it's a known fact that the Twins turned down Gibson for Tulo because of posts like this keep highlighting the fact we talked about it on the site.

I've got great wildlife out my patio window. Looking directly into woods and it turns out that the creatures don't always stay in the woods.

I'm in the city in an apartment, but I do see lots of wildlife, awesome, as it relaxes me as the *amn Yankees take the lead :banghead:

Yet another terrible outing by Gibson. Teams figuring out he doesn't have any good stuff? Destined to be yet another Nick Blackburn type?

I'm more concerned about the lack of concern of A-Rod just taking 2nd because we played behind him and didn't care.

This.

We are concerned enough in the 3rd inning (not this game) to lay down a 0-out bunt to get a guy to 2nd, but we essentially have defensive indifference for A-Rod getting into scoring position? baffling

or that report by Jeremy which said the Rockies asked for Gibson... So yeah, there was definitely smoke on this theory bud.

Fearlessness of living with dirt.

I should have been clearer...

My bad.

More generally, has anyone used a mop for curling?

Or is it against the rules or something. Or would dragging a bucket and a squeezer on the ice be disadvantageous?

(i can see i haven't thought out the implications of such a strategy at all, and perhaps i should do so before i post it... nah, this way's more fun.)

Why did you have to bring up?

Tuned in just in time to see Poof muff that double play ball that would have killed that rally.  Just....  Poof.  I know he's been vastly improved over the past couple of seasons, but he is still not the guy over there.  I was wondering when they moved Joe out of C, why they didn't try him at 3rd-  with that arm?  Come on, Killer played over there for a while.

Plus, he's got the body language of Charlie Brown.  He always look like a whipped dog walking around out there.

I'll keep going.  The Twins lead the MLB in 0-2 RBI, BY A LOT.

They have 44 RBI on an 0-2 count, the next closest team is the Giants with 33.  Trevor Plouffe is 2nd in the MLB with 0-2 RBI with 11.  The Dodgers are last and as a team have 13 0-2 RBI.

To be fair, your stats are assuming all teams have the same amount of 0-2 counts for and against.  I wouldn't doubt if the Twins were also first (or last or whatever) in getting down 0-2.  Also, I'm not confident our pitchers are frequently up 0-2.  Perhaps 0-2 RBI percentage would be a better measure?  Or are you saying that statisticians just see what they want to see?

Also HICKS!!!  Left handed!  That's why the team hates platoons.  You gotta learn sometime!

Ohhhhh good point.  I must dig deeper into this now.

Hicks does seem to be developing better power from the left side. Still not as much as he could...

Hey, I thought the whole idea of Hicks batting first was to have someone on base when Dozier came up.
