Dicknjack mentioned it several times, that it's considered a huge managerial no-no to intentionally walk the winning run. McClendon has some splainin to do!

This time you're going to have to repeat yourself.

Does Rosario make it home if he hadn't been on 3rd?

Doubt it. The outfield wasn't very deep on account of who was batting. Another faux pas by McClendon not having his infield and pitcher keep Rosario closer to 2nd.

Not to mention letting him get all the way to 3rd. Not sure that hit scores even Rosario from 2nd

Wow. Wow. Wow. I will take it!

I was really hoping for another wild pitch there, but that works too.

We are thinking on this play similarly. RGMTA.

With Rosario on 2nd... A Big lead that announcers were talking about... An average speed grounder through the hole and Seth Smith the LF...

Yeah... He Scores pretty easily.

Seriously, Sano has been a poor base runner since his recall. It worked out that there weren't any tough decisions but they got the job done in regulation.

it would have been 50/50 at worst, Rosario running on contact and is definitely getting sent.

I agree... I'm not sure exactly what McClendon was thinking. I didn't understand the IBB of Mauer the other night and this one is even worse.

Putting the winning run on base makes no sense at all... If you are that afraid of Rosario.. Pitch around him instead.

I could be vey wrong, but I feel like Suzuki has been hitting not too shabby as of late, not world beating, but like not black hole either.

Stick another fork in him?

Why not? Twice up with 1 out, down 1 and a runner on third and two pitiful at bats. Fortunately he was bailed out both times by wild pitches

Not only did it allow the easy steal, but with the big lead Rosario was allowed, he would have scored on the grounder through the hole.

McClendon for manager of the year!

Come on Trev. You couldn't honor your new born with a HR. I am insulted by your triple. You are a bad dad.

my poor child is doubly insulting. I took the first 2 weeks of her life off work. I didn't even have the chance of a supply chain managers equivalent of a home run.

I love you guys, but as it has been pointed out, I;ve been drinking.

McClendon is an idiot, but walking Rosario was the right move by far. Rosario hits RHP very well and is "hot" as of late. Suzuki is a much better matchup for the closer, at some point you have to count on your closer to not throw a wild pitch,
