As i'm looking at the 2016 free agents its kinda obvious that we need a couple more veterans to the roster to lead these young athletes such as hicks, buxton, may  sano, and mayer

Which one of these three free agents would you rather have to help lead and help teach these rookies.

Juan Uribe 3B age 36 current team  ATL salary cap hit $4,653,005 UFA

J.A. Happ SP  age32 current team SEA cap hit $6,700,000 UFA

Or

Bring back former All star

Johan Santana SP age 36 current teamTOR cap hit $2,500,000 UFA

Why? We we will have Joe Mauer, Trevor Plouffe, Glen Perkins, Brian Dozier, and maybe Tori Hunter. That's plenty of veteran leadership. We don't need backend starting pitchers or 3B taking up valuable roster spots. If the Twins want to bring in a veteran, it should be a relief pitcher, catcher, or maybe a short stop, although veteran catchers are scary in terms of injury likelihood and age-based performance decline, so I'd be cautious and keep the contract short.

Absolutely zero interest in any of those three players. The Twins need to finally find a catcher and someone who can play shortstop. Those are the two priorities they have to deal with in the offseason if not corrected by the trade deadline.

Jorge Polanco and Danny Santana are not going to cut it. Way too many errors and that is all you need to say about that.

Josmil Pinto has not lived up to his potential and Stuart Turner is not close to be ready.

yeah, not seeing it.  If the Twins dip into FA this offseason it will be for relief pitchers or a catcher.  Pretty sure the catching market is pretty sad, so I'm not expecting that.

I could see a veteran bench bat too. More along the Offerman or Ruben Sierra no defensive role, likely DFA'd by July. In other words, they'll bring 1-2 non-impact veterans.

I want fewer players over 30, not more. The steroid era is over, young fresh players are what drive this league. These days veteran players seem to be described by as either, a leader, wily or aging. None of those describe actual physical ability, mostly because their physical ability is declining.

I get the argument that getting veteran leaders is a good move, but suggesting Uribe (3B) and Happ (back end SP) as options when the twins have insane depth at 3B and lots of mid to late rotation pitchers sends off alarms that this just may be a troll post.

Also, Santana's career is likely done

No to all your suggestions.

We currently have a 3B (Plouffe) under team control for the next two seasons who is younger and currently playing better than Uribe. We also have Sano who may or may not be able to play 3B.

There are several veteran starting pitchers on the team already (Hughes, Santana, Nolasco and Pelfrey). Also a few younger veteran pitchers in Gibson and Milone. There are also waiting in the wings May and Berrios and a couple of other AAA pitchers. There really isn't any room for another veteran starting pitcher.

Johan has been hurt for the past several years and has not pitched. At best he might be able to relieve, but I think his starting days may be over.

I realize you are a new poster, so perhaps start over using a position that the Twins actually need to upgrade. Check out catchers, shortstops and relief pitchers.

No old veteran players are needed for the Twins!

So, "no concur" from me re: bringing in a "veteran".
