Time to send Rosario down?

Lost at the plate, lost in the field. Send him down, bring Buxton back up when healthy.

I think he's been fine in the field, but his numbers at the plate are dropping, as expected.

He's not ready for a demotion yet. Give him a longer chance. He might get back into a groove.

If not, I'd like to see Arcia get back in the lineup.

Yup, this is precisely when Rosario needs to STAY.  He needs to be allowed to struggle and work through things.

I am fundamentally opposed to the idea that you demote a kid to lesser competition to show them how to succeed against better ones.  At least that shouldn't be the first reaction, it might come into play if the struggles deepen and progress isn't made, but Rosario should spend the rest of 2015 with this team.

It's one thing if a guy struggles for 6-8 weeks like Santana did earlier in the season.

It's something else entirely if the guy is "struggling" for all of two weeks, as Rosario has since late June.

Exactly or last year when Hicks remained lost.  But Vargas in early May?  Rosario now?  No way, huge mistake.

I think it's time for Kepler. Don't get me wrong. I believe Danny Santana is the one that needs to be demoted. NOT Rosario. Let Rosario bat sixth or seventh in the order though. Santana has been struggling all season and he is not getting any better.

Next at bat after this post was a double (and a nice catch in LF)

Works. Every. Time. :)

Dave, I think you are patting yourself on the back overly much these days.

But, okay.

That comment was in jest. I still think he could benefit from some time in AAA, he looks over matched a lot and swings at way to many bad pitches.

The twins need to be focused on making the playoffs, at this point I think their best three OF overall for 2015 would be buxton (when he gets healthy) hicks and hunter.

I haven't heard much lately of Buxton's injury ... last I heard was 4-6 weeks? Can't imagine they wouldn't have him spend some time in Rochester first?

Let the young guys play. Well, except Santana.

The Baltimore announcers were saying that the Twins love his fielding but are concerned about his hitting- but thought he had made good progress in AAA.  Not showing itself yet, Terry.

His 23% K rate is higher than it was in the minors, but not too concerning for a young player in his first MLB call up.  It has risen to 28% this month.  I'd say that's something to keep an eye on, I wouldn't be concerned with any other part of his game at this time.

that's sad if that's true.

I'd rather see Rosario out in LF rather than Escobar or Nunez.  With Buxton hurt, Hunter in RF, Hicks in CF......who else does that leave?  With the current options, I also love his defense out there.

It seemed to me the poster I was replying to was talking about Santana.  If it was Rosario, I take it back. His defense has seemed fine.

OH! I missed that.  I mean Santana's glove is better than his bat but......

We can't deny that Molitor and Ryan have handed the job to Santana from the very day of Molitor's hiring.

I wouldn't send him down. I also wouldn't stick him in against David Price tonight. Were I to send someone down, it would be Santana, and call up Arcia. I wouldn't put Arcia in against David Price either. :)
