More of a sad note than anything: I'm watching the olympic trials and a commercial comes on and it's message was "For 17 days we are all United". That made me pretty disappointed even though I know it's true. It was just a different realization to hear it said out loud and not totally as a bad thing. Somehow that made me more discouraged with the state of the country than Trump/Hillary, police shootings/BLM, and ISIS/lone-wolf.

 

Oh well. We can look forward to reuniting in two more years.

Yep, rumor has it Mike Pence is the front-runner for the Trump ticket.

 

Or, as I see it, "how to make an immensely dislikable ticket more vile in one simple step".

 

There's no ****ing way Trump wins this thing. Whatever traction he had outside of white males is going to deteriorate with a social conservative on the ticket. Trump's sole saving grace was his waffling on religion, abortion, and other social issues.

After losing early campaigns for Congress, he wrote an essay apologizing for running negative ads against an opponent, Rep. Phillip Sharp. The Indianapolis Star has reported Pence "swore off harsh political tactics." In the essay, Pence called for "basic human decency."

Eh, I have nothing against the woman other than she made a really poor life decision when she married a talking Cheeto.

 

Actually, reading through Facebook this morning has been disappointing in several ways, one of which is seeing so many self-proclaimed progressives lay into Melania over her plagarism, looks, intelligence... The list goes on. I expect better.

 

But wow, how embarrassing for her.

This is a different case, and maybe doesn't have the same culpability as last night's incidents, but Donald Jr. copied some lines from an American Conservative article, whose author went to twitter claiming it wasn't stealing.  Still why use near the exact same lines?
