  1. As a Gallo critic from day one I yell - YES! Let's move on from both Gallo and Kepler. Let's get Larnach and Wallner up and think about the future!
  2. I have a trade. Kepler for Wallner! I agree with another post, it's time for Sanchez be released and bring up some of the younger arms to fill the rotation.
  3. Sabato is our minor league Gallo - 78 ABs, 32 Ks, 205 BA. How far is Rodriguez from a MLB call up? I see him taking Taylor's place, but next year and Celestino is not showing what I would like to see from him. The saints with Wallner/Celestino/Larnach - Miranda makes me feel like I am reading about the Twins.
  4. What a great and timely performance. I did not expect it but I loved it. Lol
  5. Beware of reaching for the golden ring - we have the pieces to succeed in the system. Rodriguez will eventually replace Taylor, but Taylor has not been a problem - it is the Gallo/Kepler strikeout kings that have hurt and Larnach's inability to take the opportunity that presented itself. 321 ABs - 114 Ks - 35% Of course Gallo leads with 45% Ks. Total for both is 0.3 WAR. Would Wallner be worse? I doubt it. Please wake up the FO - make changes that add to the quality of the team, do not send out prospects for flawed and injury prone replacements.
  6. NO - what else needs to be said? 127 ABs 44 OPS+
  7. It's worth a chance and Sanchez has proven that he's not worth counting on
  8. It is so obvious to everyone on twin's daily and probably everyone everywhere else and that we can only assume that the front office has a tremendous stubborn streak and does not like to admit the mistake.
  9. It won't happen. We are lucky if we have five doing well and it Varland needs a reset. If Maeda fails and Varland is not ready who is next? Headrick just had his head handed to him, he is not the answer, Winder is back down and does not seem to be ready. Balazovic does well in 3 inning stints. No one else is ready that I can see.
  10. Yes - it was tongue in cheek - I am impressed that Wallner plays through being ignored.
  11. I remember the dream. Kepler, Buxton and Rosario and nothing but raindrops. And we got rid of the only one producing. Of course many people disagreed with the pro Eddie posts.
  12. Wallner frustrates me. If he didn't consistently hit so well. I might not be so mad at the front office for keeping him down and keeping the unproductive bets and the major league lineup
  13. No, but there are other smart front offices like ours who will see the potential and say I think we should grab him.
  14. We have seen lots of no trade clauses that simply mean a little extra bonus when they get traded.
  15. This was an excellent essay and I totally agree with you. In fact, I think that Buxton may be our most valuable trade asset. If we take him out of the lineup, what does it do? He doesn't play in the field so we don't have to concern ourselves with that aspect. So if it's bat is not producing we can find someone else to be DH. It's really a shame because we all know is potential but after all these years I don't project him to be a full-time center fielder or a better who can have both average and power. Like gallo he is a strikeout machine.
  16. Read Reusse. We have consistently out smarted ourselves and have a terrible trade record.
  17. I am having a difficult time with the fact that Lopez is the only pitcher we have extended. Since signing the contract he has looked terrible for the most part (I am trying not to mention who we traded for him) and I wonder what happened to the pitcher who looked so good to start the season. His 4.40 era exceeds his career 4.01. 18. I am out of my frustrations. To some of your frustration I have been against Gallo before we even knew we could sign such a bargain. I did not care if we signed Correa, but don't mind that we did. I have advocated for trading Buxton (not Kepler - who wants him, just cut him), I did not want Lopez and Pagan back and I think Polanco if he gets healthy is our only trade chip. This team has no spirit, no willingness to claw and scratch and make this lousy (worse than that actually) division gives us false hope. Do I want to get in the playoffs to lose again - no. I do not like management from FO to coaching staff. They all get together for advanced sessions of back slapping, but who is in charge? Who makes the tough decision? Who cuts the players who do not make the grade? Sorry, but this excellent summary was also a call out to our worst feelings.
  19. Well that won't last. The Twins went in the tank the last half of last season, the Vikings will soon be practicing and their scrimmages will out draw the Twins.
  20. My statement is simple - I am on Gray's side!
  21. I have had two great days of biking and paddling in the upper great lakes - then I come and read about my favorite team and the bubble is burst. I have ranted against Gallo since the signing - I won't change, but Kepler and Buxton are really big disappointments. Remember when they plus Polanco, and Berrios were the future? I hate to admit failure, but time to move on.
  22. Randy Johnson was even taller and pitcher 225 - 272 innings during many seasons.
  23. What is our record with and without Buxton? I do not know, but I do not think he has been a difference maker (in a positive way). He is not the player we signed him to be.
  24. I do not advocate for everyone, but I also do not advocate limiting everyone either.
