I think Culpepper is ready and we are ready to see him called up. I am hoping the Twins do a trade of Larnach - add Martin and bring up Gonzales. More changes needed. I wish I could see some pitchers that need to be called up.

I was surprised it was Arcia DFAd and not Grey. Maybe Gray goes for Culpepper. Nice win for the team

Too true! The team is just mediocre. The lineup lacks any real excitement. Jeffers going down really diminished the lineup. The rotation has been damaged by injury, but also by its own and ineptitude. I had hoped for a lot more from Morris and Adams. It looks like Parades is the best of the call-ups. The team needs a jolt. DFA for SWR seem like the message but they need to follow that up with more moves. Right now the lethargy is spreading among twin fans.

Does it matter? We need to raise the floor, establish players who fit their position - I am tired of the flexibility factor. Being able to play 3 - 5 positions at a mediocre level is hardly exciting.

I had to look up Royce's scouting report since commentators have given their own grades. Scouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 50 | Run: 70 | Arm: 55 | Field: 55 | Overall: 55 2021 - MLB.com I doubt if any of these scores went up. In fact the highest score was run and his multiple injuries have dropped that by a lot. Until he raises his average by a lot that hit tool is not above 50. I don't know if there are new scouting reports, but I think he is below average in a lot of these categories now. My only hope is that he matures, gets a decent average and power, adjusts to a less demanding defensive position at first base and actually helps the team. My biggest disappointment so far was the potential to make an impact in the ninth inning and just watching a third strike.

Love the comments - this seems like another article meant to generate response rather than being genuine. Keaschall is figuring things out while in MLB, unlike Wallner and Lewis. His defense can improve - look at Arraez - they are now saying he is a gold glove 2B. Work with him here. We have enough coaches in Minnesota (12).

4 Under-the-Radar Twins Trade Candidates
mikelink45 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Good article for generating comments and distract us from the Twins actual record. No to trading Gomez. Questionable to trade Clemens. The players who might have value to other teams more than us include Larnach, Martin, Bell, Caratini, Lewis, Wallner, Ober, Rogers, Gray... In other words almost everyone. Some I would not list because who wants Lawrence besides us?- 31 replies

Fascinating to read the comments - one has Buxton in the HOF - more of them points out the all or nothing Ks and hit lack of clutch. Taj was our number 2 and one write says he understands why TB was wiling to trade him. There is a plea to bring up St Paul talent and another points out we have all their best pitchers. Is that true? Lewis is 3 - 11 with one double since coming up. Makes me suspicious of St Paul Stats. We have a cumulative position player 4.4 WAR on BR, Buxton is 2 and Jeffers is 1.8 That means a total of .6 WAR for the rest of the batters. Only Joe Ryan has an ERA under 4 among starters. Funderberk and Gomez are the only RP under 4 - Team is 93 in ERA + and 95 in OPS+

The Twins Need to Cash in on Kody Clemens Right Now

Sure look at the Pirates - it only took them from 2016 - 2026 to get a winning record. Boy is that a treat for the fans. -
Has the League Caught Up to Connor Prielipp?
mikelink45 replied to Sam Caulder's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I agree, but it is hard to see our run of Festa, Matthews, SWR, Prielipp, Morris going through these struggles and no one is breaking out. When I look at Pittsburgh's young pitchers, at Milwaukee and Cleveland developing numerous pitchers - Tampa with no payroll, but constantly coming up with good new arms, the Mariners with a load of young SP. I wonder what these systems are doing that we aren't. -
The way the Twins are picking up DFA and independent league players I would not write off anyone. I just picked this tidbit off the web from google about our newest acquisition from the DFA list - "Despite the Triple-A production, an Arizona team light on bullpen depth dropped Rashi from the roster. That’s explained mostly by his below-average velocity, as he averages around 91 mph with his fastball. He leans heavily on his secondary stuff as a result, mixing a slider, curveball and splitter." I am encouraged by Cossetti and any Twin minor leaguer who can doesn't put their catcher's mask on backward.

Week in Review: 'Better' vs. 'Good Enough'
mikelink45 replied to Cory Moen's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The big question isn't if Wallner should come up, but rather can Lewis find success in MLB after shining in AAA? Short term he has not looked great in two games - let's hope he catches lightning in his bat soon. Prielipp is pitching well below his expectations. After watching Pittsburgh's young pitchers blossom it is time for one of ours to shine. When Culpepper comes up which of the Gray, Kreidler, Arcia trio leaves? Can Martin regain the batting mojo that he had for the first two months? Will we ever score enough so Ryan can win as many games as he deserves? When does a pitcher return from his injuries? We need a starter. I was disappointed that Morris did not take advantage of his work as an opener and when a rotation spot. Will they try Parades in one of the TBD slots?- 20 replies

Has Matt Wallner Earned Another Shot with the Twins?

Best ERA of four twins pitchers today 4.74 - Lawrence - that will not do it. Lewis gets one hit today - this is not the guy we saw in St Paul which is why I am not impressed with Wallner in St Paul at this point - but then we have seen 3 - 18 the last five games and batting lead-off. Connor is a nice story - not a MLB starter at this point, but who else - keep running him out there and get the coaches working with him. Who is the batter we rely on? Bell hits HR 199 - but it is not exciting based on a 74 OPS+ for the year.

Has the League Caught Up to Connor Prielipp?
mikelink45 replied to Sam Caulder's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
It is up to the coaches to get the right mix and coach him into success if all his pitches remain what we expect. Who has been his catcher? Try the other one.
