I guess all those complete game pitchers in the the last century must have been injured and we never knew it.

What Should the Twins Do About Their Bullpen?
mikelink45 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
If we trade Ryan as expected what next? That removes Rojas for BP to replace Ryan. Then we have a rotation that lacks an Ace, a BP that lacks shut down arms. Not good for a run to the playoffs. I am worried about Ober. I see Gomez, Morris, and Raya needing to continue or step up. I like Parades approach and keep him. The rest do not give me any encouragement. We will be forced to keep Rogers and Erze, but they are not good. Then what? First we start forcing SP to go seven, even the third time through they are better than the alternatives. Second we bring up Culpepper and we experiment with more minor league arms.- 85 replies

Why just 5? With our BP we need starters to go 7

We had similar angst with Santana and France - too quick for us commenters to pull the trigger.

Am I delusional? It seems like our system is short on quality pitching, only a couple really seem like they have major league potential. I would love to see our prospect list dominating by pitchers.

The trouble is you really have to go back to when we were leading after three four or five enemies

great - seven innings, how about 8? Trusting the BP is like putting out the fire with a liquid called gasoline. Let's change it from bullpen to Heiferpen!

Our site wrote off Lee in many early posts and comments. I am so glad we had patience. The answer to who will be the next core might include Lee.

A few years ago we had the same expectations that seem to swarm about the OF depth of Walker, Gonzales, Rodriguez, Roden with Lewis, Kiriloff and Larnach. The shine fades quickly. The IL visits of this next batch of saviors has dampened my enthusiasm. So far Jenkins has played 224 games in 5 1/2 seasons or 40 games a year. In those 5.5 years Emmanual Rodriguez has averaged 58 games a year. Those are the two top rated. Can we count on them?

I am high on Diaw and expect him to make AAA before the season ends. We need to have a catcher with Jeffers gone and Caratini with one more year.

Minnesota Twins Prospect Retrospective: Marco Raya
mikelink45 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Wait and see - better than another DFA pickup -
Rubbing salt in the wounds! I just read this in USA Today examining all the losing records in the AL at the half way mark: "Well, it’s easy enough to look at the interleague records and realize 12 of 15 teams have losing records against the National League. The Angels (9-18) and Twins (9-17) are the worst of the bunch, while only the Mariners (12-11) and Rangers (16-14) are above .500."

Trading Trevor Larnach Just Makes Too Much Sense
mikelink45 replied to Sam Caulder's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Trades require a second team - the article I am looking for is - who do other teams want from the Twins. -
Ohtani, Freeman, Muncy, Betts - I think the team played really well against them - only overwhelmed by star power in game two. And jkcarew had to remind us of the all-star IL lineup that they have. Thanks for the response.

Is Riley Quick one of those players who came on too quick, caught our attention and quickly rose too high in the prospect list? I always like to wait a year in the minors before giving a player a top ten listing.

Only trade for pitchers! We have plenty of OF/DH - we don't have a complete roster of pitchers. -
How long before Morris plays himself off the prospect list? Some nice stats by the batters. Everyone says Roden or Walker comes up - how about bringing Gonzales back?

I know I am in the minority but I really don't care if the pitcher is older than the batter. When they get to the majors no one says that. Talent is not restricted to age.
