    Based on our record there were a lot of poor decisions over the last three years and keeping Larnach might have been one.

    Interesting - I definitely get rid of 4 - 7. Lewis is a big disappointment, and Martin has never done anything to make me like him on the roster. Larnach is going to be priced out of the Twins plans and was should be higher than Martin.

    Our RP are either cooked or showing their true values. The use of 2 - 4 RP every game is bound to wear them down, but it still makes me wonder if this BP can carry over to next year. I know Rogers will be gone, are Minter and Gomez as good as we thought going through the summer? Adams and Morris both wore down. Hoffman is the only one I think we can count on as an asset next year.

    I am too old-fashioned and really do not like strikeouts and maybe one of the three true outcomes, but in reality is one of the three outs per inning. I prefer the Keaschall and Arraez hitters and know that Jenkins seems to have grounded himself. He is also a good type of prospect that I really root for. He has some power but he also has some contact. I have not been a big Emma supporter. I kind of like the look of Mendez right now.

    What is the direction? I don't have the answer, but we have half season Buxton and Ryan, Lopez and Festa have been away too long to count on them. Abel - 4 games and 1.57 Whip and the articles sound like he was on his way to stardom. Adams and Morris faded badly - are they real BP arms we can count on? Gomez had a great year - is he a one year wonder? Larnach is replacement level, Lewis is a conundrum and has not given me any hope for the future. Bell is gone, Jeffers is gone and we have Caratini! Yikes. Tell me where direction and expectations meet.

    Ty France is the best of the lot and we already gave up on him.

    Kevin has 12 years with the very low payroll Tampa team in the very difficult American league East. So far this would be his fourth year finishing first; He has been second 4 times and won the AL pennant with one of those teams. He has finished 3rd three times. That is a good manager.

    Is this group of pitcher's indicative of how poor our arms are throughout the system?

    You think anyone could demand that the Pohlads sign more talent? Billy Martin was famous for getting in fights and getting fired - besides burning out his pitchers arms. Joe Madden looked great when his players were good, but like every manager it is the team. Joe did not look so good in the Angels Death Valley. I will say that Kevin Cash is a really great manager and part of that is the new world where the GM and manager have to be in sync.

    He has averaged 82 games per year over 12 years. No he can't be counted on.

    The Mets have Benge, McClean and Soto - that is enough to lift them without Lindor figuring into the discussion. So they are above us - but 10 seems too high.

    I am always fascinated by the critiques of managers - look at what is happening in Cincinnati where Francona is no longer a great manager or when Casey Stengel went from Yankees to Mets. It still comes down to players. Put Boone in Sacramento and see how great he is. True some managers are better, but I do not know how to make that judgement.

    Not every pitcher is going to throw 100mph - sometimes pitching is more about weak contact. I am not sure if Ober can continue to develop this style, but he looks like he is learning.

    Best catchers to trade - Jackson and Caratini! Oh, wait, we don't have anyone else for 2027.

    Luke has quickly become my favorite - Arraez was when he was here too. Work with him. He knows how to hit, teach him how to field - we have enough coaches (14) shouldn't one be a fielding coach?

    At this point the draft is more important that some Yankee victory.

    I have been reading about Festa all year in the we are missing Abel, Lopez and Festa like this really mattered. We have no idea what Lopez will do after missing almost two years. Abel has not established himself and Festa has a 5.12 ERA over two MLB years. We need some more high octane pitchers.

    Let it play out. If he is in CF and only lasts half the season we are in the same position as we have beeen in past years. Use him where he is best. At least we have some adequate replacements now. I just don't see him as DH. For twelve years his average games played is 82 - half a season. As he gets older it might be less, but maximize his abilities for the games he does play.

    We have helped many pens and not just the ridiculous trade of Louis Varland. Duran might have gotten us better return, but in this era when the BP seems to be more important than the rotation, losing the best reliever in each league hurts. More to the point of this post - remember we had Cano and did nothing with him before he broke out with the Orioles. He might not at his peak now, be he is still really good and we never tried him. Tyler Wells has 2.4 WAR as a reliever - we did not try him. Jovani Moran is 0.7 WAR - Red Sox. and there are more. It is good to sign good free agents and DFAs but it is also good to judge your own talent.

    We are running out of things to say about this year. My only thoughts are that Gonzales going down for Martin made no sense to me. And I am really curious about your thoughts about 2027 Catcher as well as 1B.

    I look at yesterday's comments and wonder if we win tomorrow will they be that positive again? This team is just not good. Keeping Ryan has only reduced his trade value but do we keep starting him? I would. Detroit has now caught us. It is not about catching the teams ahead of us - it is about not letting the other teams pass us. Not long ago we were ahead of the three teams that are now above us on the list. Frustrating.

    At this point both need to play everyday - that is what the remainder of the season is all about for us non-believers.

    Sorry to see Ross go down as well as Gonzales. I am not one holding out hope for WC and want to see possibilities for 2027.
