  1. I'm not upset and I'm not bringing up Arraez I just get upset with efforts to find statistics to make people better than what they are. I'm very happy with the eye test and I don't need somebody to tell me that we didn't lose because we actually had better statistics. Lopez is talented. But he's not any different than what his career stats show. So I Don't want to hear how great he is and I don't care to judge the trade. Give me the full year and let's see what Lopez has done for us.
  2. I lost my original response, but to compare Nolan and Pablo is way out of my ability. Pablo is 31` - 36 with a career 4.01 and this year he is 4.40. Is he okay - yes, but we did not extend him because he was okay
  3. No you are exaggerating to make a point - I simply ask who won, who lost and did he perform at the level we want and expect and after the first month he has not.
  4. I have no idea - but no one else does either. Look at his career and tell me that he is better than his record.
  5. Come on - next we will find out that the Twins are better than their record. Performance and results are what I care about. And Lopez after the first month has been no better than a #4 or 5 starter.
  6. Half the season gone - is it still SSS? Don't we have enough facts to cut some of the "old vets" loose and start putting youth and excitement into the game. Kiriloff, Julien, and Lewis have shown that the young can play - a lot of players have shown that the older are not producing.
  7. Did I miss something? Is this the playoffs? Because we sure are playing the way we usually do against good teams in the postseason.
  8. I apologize - I read the title and could not go further.
  9. My inclination is to say no. Right now. I don't see winder, Balazovic or sands and headrick as successful developments. They are arms that are useful but a pipeline means quality and right now I don't see a lineup of quality. Ober is good but not top of rotation and varland is still a? If Maeda fails to sustain his comeback and Varland is still struggling at AAA. Who is the next one for the rotation? Will we retain gray? Ryan is really good but he is not young like a major prospect should be. Lopez has looked like umber three at pitcher since we extended him. The prospects that we are listing are still always away from Minneapolis. If we want to look at quality then maybe Petty, Cade Povich,,, represent the upside of our drafting. There are Minnesota arms out there on other people's rosters. So the question is it a pipeline that is working for the twins or is it just trade capital?
  10. When you have a series against Detroit it should be a week where you really pick up wins, but we struggle with bad teams so maybe this is a good week for us. Good teams get us to concentrate - maybe we will be 4 - 2
  11. Sometimes I think the FO is enamored with their own intelligence and get caught up trying to prove how they can figure out what others cannot. And too often what they prove is that they might want to talk to some old time baseball people.
  12. As a Gallo critic from day one I yell - YES! Let's move on from both Gallo and Kepler. Let's get Larnach and Wallner up and think about the future!
  13. I have a trade. Kepler for Wallner! I agree with another post, it's time for Sanchez be released and bring up some of the younger arms to fill the rotation.
  14. Sabato is our minor league Gallo - 78 ABs, 32 Ks, 205 BA. How far is Rodriguez from a MLB call up? I see him taking Taylor's place, but next year and Celestino is not showing what I would like to see from him. The saints with Wallner/Celestino/Larnach - Miranda makes me feel like I am reading about the Twins.
  15. What a great and timely performance. I did not expect it but I loved it. Lol
  16. Beware of reaching for the golden ring - we have the pieces to succeed in the system. Rodriguez will eventually replace Taylor, but Taylor has not been a problem - it is the Gallo/Kepler strikeout kings that have hurt and Larnach's inability to take the opportunity that presented itself. 321 ABs - 114 Ks - 35% Of course Gallo leads with 45% Ks. Total for both is 0.3 WAR. Would Wallner be worse? I doubt it. Please wake up the FO - make changes that add to the quality of the team, do not send out prospects for flawed and injury prone replacements.
  17. NO - what else needs to be said? 127 ABs 44 OPS+
  18. It's worth a chance and Sanchez has proven that he's not worth counting on
  19. It is so obvious to everyone on twin's daily and probably everyone everywhere else and that we can only assume that the front office has a tremendous stubborn streak and does not like to admit the mistake.
  20. It won't happen. We are lucky if we have five doing well and it Varland needs a reset. If Maeda fails and Varland is not ready who is next? Headrick just had his head handed to him, he is not the answer, Winder is back down and does not seem to be ready. Balazovic does well in 3 inning stints. No one else is ready that I can see.
  21. Yes - it was tongue in cheek - I am impressed that Wallner plays through being ignored.
  22. I remember the dream. Kepler, Buxton and Rosario and nothing but raindrops. And we got rid of the only one producing. Of course many people disagreed with the pro Eddie posts.
  23. Wallner frustrates me. If he didn't consistently hit so well. I might not be so mad at the front office for keeping him down and keeping the unproductive bets and the major league lineup
