    I have no problem with Rocco. Managers in baseball get too much credit when things go well, and too much heat when things go poorly. The manager doesn't get to pick his roster, the manager doesn't decide who to call up or send down (hopefully does have influence), the manager is not a doctor and can't decide who is too injured to play. He simply puts the best possible roster together of the players he is given. When given a poor BP, he can only send out poor quality pitchers he is given. He's not the one who keeps striking out, or the one who decides Buxton should only be a DH. I know a lot of Twins fans will disagree with me, but he is part of the process of using advanced analytics that this Front Office has chosen to use to try and win a championship. Since that is the philosophy they are going to go with (which I support), then better to have a manager who also believes in it instead of an old school, rub some dirt on it type of coach like they could bring in.

    I disagree - The team DOES have faith in him. Thats what most of us don't understand. They shouldn't have faith in him, but by resigning him, and then as they keep sending him out. Why could they possibly have faith in him to keep doing that is the question.

    No thanks for Apple TV or any streaming service broadcasts for me. I know some people prefer it (good for them), but BSN is the ONLY reason I pay for DirecTV.

    I'm ok with Buck being in the DH role as long as Taylor is healthy and playing well. If Taylor gets injured, I feel thats the time to put Buck in CF instead of any other options. For now, things are going fine.

    Between this, and the earlier Houston series I believe this proves that IF we can stay healthy - we can play with anyone in the AL. Long season ahead, but we belong with the teams trying to make noise in the playoffs.

    Sounds like he's having a good rehab to get back to driving the ball. Any word on how he's feeling? Seems like he was pretty vocal last year about things not 'feeling right' - hopefully he's feeling ok now and hitting again. Would be good addition when Salano is our other 1B option and can have struggles.

    I'm just starting to really get into the draft stuff overall - mostly I do look at SS, CF and SP as figure those players are often the best players on an individual team (like I said, I'm learning), but I have to think we seriously need a stud C in this draft. Hope there are some out there as our long term cupboard for the future of this position is not great.

    Simply meaning that because of so many left handed corner outfielders in our system - Larnach may indeed get traded. But - I also feel that when all is said and done, Larnach will have a better MLB career than Gordon - maybe just not with the Twins.

    I agree partly with your comments - it is a no brainer that Trevor should go down, but only because he does have options left and Gordon can play a bigger variety of positions. I feel pretty strongly that if we didn't have a ton of left handed bats in the system - Larnach is going to have a better long term career than Gordon. But you're right, for the time being need to keep Gordon's ability to play multiple positions and hope he hits his way out of this slump. Its only a matter of time before Larnach is back due to a different injury.

    When did they 'promise' to be more aggressive? As others have stated, you have to have the players to be aggressive with. Do you even WANT to be aggressive with players like Buxton (injury), Gordon (never on base so far), or Kepler (inablity to get on base).

    You're right in your comment - but today Taylor is nearly as good in CF, and a better hitter so far this year.... So..yeah. Sure long term Buxton will be better....he has to be, and Taylor will cool off and come back to his career average numbers, but for the time being - makes no sense that putting Buxton in CF will do anything to improve our hitting because we have no bench players who would go into the DH spot that are hitting better than today's version of Taylor.

    Does Moran remind anybody else of Pagan where I'm worried that as good as his stuff looks analytic wise - it just doesn't pass the real life game test? Hope we don't keep throwing him out there like they have done with other relief pitchers who can't generate results.

    I think it will be Castro before Gordon as Gordon doesn't have any options left while Castro does.

    Much of his career he's been playing hurt. Lets see IF he can stay healthy on the roster this year long enough to give him a fair chance to show a real sample of what he can do when feeling good.

    Should we be concerned - sure. But - so far we've been able to take advantage of the depth the FO created during the off season and its working out. No team has unlimited depth, so hopefully we'll start getting guys back sooner rather than later. Most concerning for me are the ability for either Polanco or AK to play a significant role this year.

    As long as Taylor is healthy, I see no reason to put Buxton there other than a day off for Taylor. Our OF is almost as good, and it keeps Buxton from being in position to get injured as often. His production in the batting order is more important than any slight upgrade he gives us in the field. The only thing I don't like about that idea means that Taylor needs to be in the batting line up as well. I'm pretty sure this will work itself out without any decisions needing to be made - people always get injured, and thats when he'll start playing in the field more often. I have no problems at all with the plan they are taking at the moment. It was time to try something new because just putting him out there has always resulted in injury - why would that change?

    I'm a bigger Kepler fan than most but wouldn't be sad if Wallner plays so great Kepler goes into a reserve role.

    Glad to see Joey catch a couple! Sorry to see Pagan appears to be the same Pagan we thought he was, even in low leverage this time 🤐

    I understand your gripe about not wanting to have Lopez pulled after 85, but he's still working up to a full load. I'm not going to complain about that on opening day. I gotta also say however - I don't give 2 turds about how many innings pitchers go if we get wins. Starters go only 2 innings and we win - I'll be happy, Starters go 9 innings I'll be happy. The days of full game shut outs however are basically almost over. However- gotta have a good pen if they're going to be asked to pitch much, something we didn't have last year.

    Sounds like fate for Jorel Ortega - Welcome to the Twins - go out there and play....and get injured. Good grief! I'm intrigued by Cory Lewis - Don't knuckleball pitchers normally throw a 4-seam that hits about 80mph? Would be pretty cool to see him toss in the mid-90's one pitch and then a floater the moves all over the place on the following pitch.

    Agreed - but does he have any power in regards to who he has on his team? Rocco is the one oftentimes blamed (fair or not) when he sends Pagan out there. Could Rocco simply tell the F.O. that Pagan isn't making this team out of spring training, or would they laugh at him? To be responsible for a player you don't want on the team isn't fair - not saying Rocco feels that way. Just hope he is only used in blow outs at this point.
