  1. Rocco is perhaps the biggest reason the Twins cannot be taken seriously. The decision to pull Ober after only 5 innings and 78 pitches to "save his arm" is typical Baldelli nonsense. Leaving Floro in so long to get beat up and give another game away is inexcusable. I believe it is at least 12 games Rocco has thrown away in game by all of a sudden deciding to not be competitive. It slaps in the face of fans and the players not to at least give the appearance that you are trying to win games. This is one of the biggest reasons it is so hard to get behind this team.
  2. Having sands wasting away a spot in the bullpen is terrible. If we don't have anyone in the minors any better then we are hurting. Great game. Everything looks good until the next losing streak comes along. Go Twins
  3. Yes we have a lot of underachieving on this team. It's funny hiw Gallo has one good day out of over 100 and some people think he is all of a sudden worth it. Come on, get serious people. He's been holding the team back most of the season. Hopefully he's gone after the season. Seems like a wasted 11 million dollars. 11 mil doesn't buy much any more these days.
  4. Keep Maeda. I'm in the group that doesn't believe Gray wants to play here anyway. Paddock is a question mark after missing a whole season. There's no guarantees he will be able to come back. He may and I hope so but the Twins FO relies on hope and what is way too much. Let Mahle walk. Realize you made a bad trade and just move on. Don't ever deal with the Reds again. Lol
  5. It's sad because let's face it. This Twins team doesn't even deserve to be in the playoffs. They surely don't play like they even want to make it.
  6. We knew kuechel wasn't going to be good. His highest velocity was 88. If you don't pitch perfect with such slow speeds you will get bombed. Save yourself some headaches twins and release him now. He's been released several times the past few years. He's used to it. He's toast! During this 4 game losing streak twins have been outscored 31-7. This is not a good team. Just mediocre like the JV division they play in. But I'm sure they will "win" the division since the other teams also appear uninterested. Then the manage and FO will tell us all what a great job they did in assembling and managing this team. They will probably need exrays on their arms and ahoulders from all the self back patting. Good grief!!
  7. Absolutely no apologies. They have both played well the past couple of months but that's it. Since 2021 Kepler has a batting g average of .217. Pagan has been one of baseballs worst bullpen arms over the past 4 years. Yes I'm glad they are finally contributing at least some to this very mediocre team. I still think it would be best if they are both gone after this season. This team has been floundering for 3 seasons. It's time for change.
  8. Do the Twins have a chance? Of course they do. So do all the other playoff teams. I'm sure the multitude of Twins what ifs, could be, and you never know is the same for the team waiting to play us in the first round. If we had this record in any other division in baseball we would already be talking about next year. Of course we win the division. We are the only team in it with the talent. No one else wants it. We may as well take it. Go Twins.
  9. I have always liked Larnach. I do agree he has flaws. Like hitting breaking balls. But we can ask Buxton about that. He's had over 8 years eing very good at flailing away at low and away breaking balls. Wallner us doing well and I like him and hope he's here to stay. But the Twins have this thing about jerking around some of their young talent. I think they should trade Larnach this off season. If for no other reason to let him play on a major league roster. The Twins don't want him maybe another team will give him a chance. I just hope Wallner can keep making adjustments as opposing teams find the holes in his swing.
  10. Same old stories with Buxton. 8 years of injuries. The poor guy should retire. In any case the Twins should set him out for the rest of the season. He us not helping the team at all. Quite the contrary. He's hurting the team. The team plays much better without his automatic out in the lineup. It's time to shut Buxton down.
  11. I've always liked Kepler. But before this 5 to 6 week barrage he had hit a total of only 216 since the start of the 2021 seasons. Not great fir the past two and half years. I don't mind if they keep him but I actually think it's time for both Kepler and Polanco to go this off season. GobTwins
  12. Sorry but the time to dump Gallo has long passed. It was a poor signing to start with. If we don't have anyone in the organization that can play a better first base and hit, then this team is in real trouble.
  13. Nice win Twins!! Kuechel was ok. Not great but not bad. He had some great defense helping him and the Dbacks have been terrible lately. They all of a sudden can't score. Since everything came together at least for this past series. Well done Twins. Kurchel will be ok but since his fastball is routinely around 90 or less he needs to be pinpoint perfect. Otherwise they will light him up like a Christmas tree. It's interesting hiw they seem to play better when Buxton and Gallo aren't in the lineup making the automatic outs. On to Detroit boys. GO Twins!!
  14. This is one of the worst front offices the Twins have ever had. We have a joke of a manager that can't go anywhere without his laptop telling him what to do. It's the most boring team, most frustrating team we've had in years. Yes we will win the division. We may win it by a lot idk. We have an "easy" schedule compared to others. But winning the Junior Varsity AL Central isn't much of an accomplishment. No one in the division is very good including the Twins. They will win the division and pat themselves on the back by telling us what a great job they did. Then we will be forced to endure the same lackluster style of baseball for several more years. This team has no self discipline. They are terrible, just like Rocco, at making jn game adjustments. Where's the sanity in moving Correa in a horrendous slump again from leadoff to clean up hitter? Where is the sanity in keep sending Gallo out there to strike out and provide little else. Surely any AAA player could do better than that. Where us the sanity in letting many underperformed veterans play and continue to impede the progress of some of their prospects. Where is the sanity of doing nothing at the trade deadline? Yes maybe they couldn't find the right deal. But not trading players on expiring contracts and getting nothing for them is worse. Where is the (in)sanity? It's in the Front Office.
  15. Sorry to say but Buxton is toast. He's only been a part time playerfor 8 of 9 years. He's been and us a bust. He was overrated since day one and has only proven that with his " performance" as a Twin. And especially his non performance as a twin. If he can't stay injury free to DH why do people think he will be able to play center field? It makes no sense. It makes no sense putting him in the lineup when he is hurting the team. It's sad that we will never know what type of player he could have been. If his knees are that bad that he can't even DH he should consider retirement for the sake of the team and more importantly for his own health.
  16. Typical mystifying decision by this inept front office. Keep Sands and let Hoffman and columbe go? That alone should get them fired.
  17. Just another meh move by a meh front office to field a meh team. Signing these guys will do nothing. But if it means releasing Gallo...... Great. Just typical low cost reclamation projects that likely won't make a positive difference but more likely a negative impact with keuchel. There is a reason no one signed him. There is a reason he's been dfa'd several times the past few years. Look I hope he does well but his history says otherwise. Go Twins
  18. Very interesting article. It does make you think anyway. I can't imagine the ownership is that thrilled with this teams performance. The big money guys have done little to nothing to help the team. There are limits as to what ownership could or should do with payroll. Yes they are very wealthy but smartly they run the team just like any of their businesses. If they didn't we may not have had major league baseball here for the past 3 decades. But of course we don't know if they put the lid on payroll or not. After all it's a privately held business they don't have to tell us. To me what's more intriguing is why Gallo is still even on the roster. He should have been DFA'd weeks ago. Also that we are likely to get nothing in return now when our free agents and option players are gone after the season. A draft pic? Big deal. Only 15% of those draft pics ever make it. What I find even more interesting is that they may not like the looks of, or believe in, this team. Totally under a Randalls. Many of us Twins fans feel the same way. But remember thud. The FO only has itself to blame. They put this team together.
  19. Been following twins baseball since the mid sixties. This has taken me through some fun years and some awful years. Yet I find myself totally frustrated with a franchise that hired a new front office 7 years ago that told us we would have a sustainably winning and competitive team. We are still waiting. The past three years have produced some of the most overhyped and boring baseball in years. They are very hard to watch. I love the Twins and follow them daily. IMO this management team should be replaced by someone that can give us major league baseball. My guess is we will back into the central division title by default and they will all be telling us what a great job they did. This will result in us having to put up with this embarrassing brand of baseball for years. Go Twins!!
  20. Good for Dallas. Not sure it's good for the Twins. I guess it's worth shot. Why not? Ryan, whether he's hurt or not, looks cooked and may need a rest. Dallas has been released several times by several ball clubs the past few years. The Twins love reclamation projects. I don't see him doing much to help the Twins.
  21. Not sure of his status. I thought he himself opted out of his contract with the Twins. In that case I don't think the Twins own him and he may not even be a part of the organization. If that is the case the can't " call him up" because there is nothing to "call up." In any case I don't mind that they signed him in the first place but he has blown up his tire so to speak. He hasn't been a quality MLB starting pitcher for about 4 years. The Twins need a lot more than him to suddenly become relevant.
  22. Great article ( video) about the trade deadline and this FO. I totally agree with your thoughts about them selling hope only. They sell hope but produce mediocrity. That's why I get so frustrated about the Twins. I've been a Twins fan since the mid 60s and these past three seasons have been about the worst I've seen. I have very little hope of this team as long as Falvey/lavine are in control. Loved your video though!
  23. Some major publication recently predicted the Twins will win the division with an 80-82 record. Of course they also predicted that we would have a major league shortstop and DH. I guess you can't have everything.
  24. I read someplace, I think mlb.com but not sure, that Keukel opted out of his contract when the Twins said they didn't have a spot on the 40 man roster. If that's true it's outrageous. There's plenty of candidates on the 40 man and even a couple on the 26 man. Regarding the artcle: well done! Well thought out. I agree with the comments but it just points to the inability of this FO to manage a roster. If #3 is correct that there isn't enough talent on this team for a serious playoff run. That very well may be true but this FO is the one that pit this "team" together. They only have themselves to blame for it. We will back into the division title and this great FO that has brought some of the poorest baseball for Twins fans, will be strutting around like peacocks telling us what a great job they did. Then when the playoffs start and we face mainly left handed starting pitching they will show their true colors. I do understand to some extent not trading. A trade for the sake of a trade is foolish. But to stand there and tell us you have a great team is being disingenuous. We should all be used to that by now. They brought us a mediocre team the past 3 years. That must have been what they were hired for. We are supposed to. As longtime twind fans, just sit back and be happy with it. IMO this team, manager and front office are frauds. If we somehow don't make the playoffs that the other central division teams don't want then our management team must go. Rd G.
  25. Wow. This FO keeps failing the Twins faithful. They didn't have to make a big splash. But they could have added a bullpen arm and right handed bat. They just keep panning this off as a good team. They are 30-39 against teams with a winning record. That alone tells you we aren't very good.
