Nice win Twins. Well not a nice win. But not a bad win either. It was one of those non losses that goes into the win column. And that's all that counts.

Did the Twins Mishandle Bailey Ober in 2023?
Whitey333 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
IMO Ober has been somewhat mishandled. Also IMO his demotion was made as much to hamper his major league service time as anything. Yes he could have been put on IL with a tired arm. Teams do it all the time. And as far as having to be injured to be on IL, look how many times "injured" Twins players magically disappear from the 10 or 15 day disabled list into relative obscurity. Unfortunately the Twins have a long history of manipulating a players service time. I can't help but wonder if this isn't at least part of the reason. -
Can Byron Buxton Actually Get Healthy?
Whitey333 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Buxton should be shut down until 2024. If he can't play next year they need to move kn from him. He's toast as they say. He should not even allowed to play this year anymore and further injure his knee and all his other fragile body parts. We don't need another automatic out in the lineup with playoffs coming. We already have Gallo. Any decision to put Buxton, and for that matter too Gallo on the playoff roster should result in serious question about the sanity and overall ability of this front office to do their job. Go Twins!!! -
I would like to see more competition from other teams in the Central. I think tough competition makes a competitive team even better. As this year unfolded I think the Twins were held back by this lack of other good teams pushing them. I must admit they are playing better and also have a better record than I thought they would have at this point. Now if Baldelli doesn't over think the game I think they will be ok. Go Twins!!

Looks like Sunday could be another of Roccos throw away games. He burned up his bullpen. Maeda needs a great game today if we have any chance. He may also be left to hang out to dry even if he has a bad day. Gallo? He's a joke and has been fir most of the season. Putting him in to pinch run is even more of a joke. Gallo is just an automatic out taking up space. He needs to be DFAd soon. He should not even be considered for a possible playoff roster spot. Same fir Kuechel. He really doesn't add much to the team at all. Go Twins.

Great article Seth. So if a player goes through unclaimed is he back with the team that put him on waivers? Is he a free agent? Does the team then just release him?

There’s One Team Twins Want to Avoid in Postseason

Lewis Up to Replace Luplow (or Gallo)? Makes Sense for 2023 and Really Makes Sense For 2024
Whitey333 commented on LA Vikes Fan's blog entry in LA Vikes Fan
Dump both Gallo and Ludlow. And quit putting so much emphasis in Buxton. He's been here 8 years and he's still being treated like he's the best player in baseball. Get over it. Hrs not anymore and counting on him to fill some kind of a full time, highly productive role on this team. It has hurt the team the last few years. He's hurt way too much and hès not dependable and in reality not that great of a player anymore. Twins seem to play better without him playing. Go Twins -
Just can't figure out what the Twins have against Ober. They have messed with him all year yet he is one of their best starters. Sure he's not having a good August. Other guys are on the team that shouldn't be. Gallo? He's not only had a bad August. He's had a bad 2023 and career. Yet they keep him. The " veterans" on this team have overall underperformed. They are hurting the team. We have seen some great play from many of our younger players but in my opinion the FO treats them poorly. Ober maybe should have been put on il with a tired arm. A demotion to AAA is demeaning and sends a wrong message to him and other young players. For next year it's time to purge the roster of some of these veterans and let the kids play. They are much more entertaining and they deserve it. The central division looks like it's for the Twins taking the next few years. Perfect timing to let the young players develop and shine in the majors while still winning the division. Go Twins

What's hurt the Twins IMO is we have a mi n ir league manager for a major league team. He appears totally unable to adjust to the game at hand. Correa has been just another overpaid so called superstars. Buxton has been leaned on for too many years as being the leader of this team. What has he lead? Most trips to il. He's been a part time player for 8 years. Yet people treat him like some kind of baseball savior. Everyone is waiting for Buxton to be healthy. We've been waiting for so long. It's time to quit counting on him. That philosophy is hampering tge whole team and it's development. One major reason they are struggling is they just simply aren't that good. We've been promised a consistently competitive team. For the past three years it has been consistently mediocre.

This team should have a much better record than it has. They are barely a 500 team and have played like it most of the season. Yes maybe we are lucky to be in the very weak central division. Then again maybe not. The lack of competition from anyone else may be holding down the Twins even a little. Why should they try? No one is pushing them. Not the competition or lack thereof and definitely not our great manager Rocco lol. We will win the division not because we deserve it. More because no other team has been interested all year.

Rocco is perhaps the biggest reason the Twins cannot be taken seriously. The decision to pull Ober after only 5 innings and 78 pitches to "save his arm" is typical Baldelli nonsense. Leaving Floro in so long to get beat up and give another game away is inexcusable. I believe it is at least 12 games Rocco has thrown away in game by all of a sudden deciding to not be competitive. It slaps in the face of fans and the players not to at least give the appearance that you are trying to win games. This is one of the biggest reasons it is so hard to get behind this team.

Having sands wasting away a spot in the bullpen is terrible. If we don't have anyone in the minors any better then we are hurting. Great game. Everything looks good until the next losing streak comes along. Go Twins

The Joey Gallo Experiment Should Be Over
Whitey333 replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Yes we have a lot of underachieving on this team. It's funny hiw Gallo has one good day out of over 100 and some people think he is all of a sudden worth it. Come on, get serious people. He's been holding the team back most of the season. Hopefully he's gone after the season. Seems like a wasted 11 million dollars. 11 mil doesn't buy much any more these days.- 58 replies

What Twins Free Agent Starter Do the Twins Bring Back?
Whitey333 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Keep Maeda. I'm in the group that doesn't believe Gray wants to play here anyway. Paddock is a question mark after missing a whole season. There's no guarantees he will be able to come back. He may and I hope so but the Twins FO relies on hope and what is way too much. Let Mahle walk. Realize you made a bad trade and just move on. Don't ever deal with the Reds again. Lol- 69 replies

It's sad because let's face it. This Twins team doesn't even deserve to be in the playoffs. They surely don't play like they even want to make it.

We knew kuechel wasn't going to be good. His highest velocity was 88. If you don't pitch perfect with such slow speeds you will get bombed. Save yourself some headaches twins and release him now. He's been released several times the past few years. He's used to it. He's toast! During this 4 game losing streak twins have been outscored 31-7. This is not a good team. Just mediocre like the JV division they play in. But I'm sure they will "win" the division since the other teams also appear uninterested. Then the manage and FO will tell us all what a great job they did in assembling and managing this team. They will probably need exrays on their arms and ahoulders from all the self back patting. Good grief!!

We Owe Max Kepler and Emilio Pagan an Apology
Whitey333 replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Absolutely no apologies. They have both played well the past couple of months but that's it. Since 2021 Kepler has a batting g average of .217. Pagan has been one of baseballs worst bullpen arms over the past 4 years. Yes I'm glad they are finally contributing at least some to this very mediocre team. I still think it would be best if they are both gone after this season. This team has been floundering for 3 seasons. It's time for change. -
The Twins Can Make a Run in the Playoffs. Here's How.
Whitey333 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Do the Twins have a chance? Of course they do. So do all the other playoff teams. I'm sure the multitude of Twins what ifs, could be, and you never know is the same for the team waiting to play us in the first round. If we had this record in any other division in baseball we would already be talking about next year. Of course we win the division. We are the only team in it with the talent. No one else wants it. We may as well take it. Go Twins. -
Matt Wallner Has Changed the Twins Plans
Whitey333 replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I have always liked Larnach. I do agree he has flaws. Like hitting breaking balls. But we can ask Buxton about that. He's had over 8 years eing very good at flailing away at low and away breaking balls. Wallner us doing well and I like him and hope he's here to stay. But the Twins have this thing about jerking around some of their young talent. I think they should trade Larnach this off season. If for no other reason to let him play on a major league roster. The Twins don't want him maybe another team will give him a chance. I just hope Wallner can keep making adjustments as opposing teams find the holes in his swing. -
Same old stories with Buxton. 8 years of injuries. The poor guy should retire. In any case the Twins should set him out for the rest of the season. He us not helping the team at all. Quite the contrary. He's hurting the team. The team plays much better without his automatic out in the lineup. It's time to shut Buxton down.

Sorry but the time to dump Gallo has long passed. It was a poor signing to start with. If we don't have anyone in the organization that can play a better first base and hit, then this team is in real trouble.

Nice win Twins!! Kuechel was ok. Not great but not bad. He had some great defense helping him and the Dbacks have been terrible lately. They all of a sudden can't score. Since everything came together at least for this past series. Well done Twins. Kurchel will be ok but since his fastball is routinely around 90 or less he needs to be pinpoint perfect. Otherwise they will light him up like a Christmas tree. It's interesting hiw they seem to play better when Buxton and Gallo aren't in the lineup making the automatic outs. On to Detroit boys. GO Twins!!
