I still remember two years ago they won 12 straight and missed the playoffs. Last year they won 13 in a row and finished 20 games or so below .500. Just enjoy it while we can.

The Twins had to dump Correa. Too expensive and surely didn't play to a superstar level. I blame Falvey for mis using the $35 million per year that they were allowed to pay Correa by the Ownership. Poor job of payroll management. Could have gotten 3 or 4 decent players for that amount.

Byron Buxton Deserves Better Than His Early Results
Whitey333 replied to Sam Caulder's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Oh my. Another over done story about Byron Buxton. Can we get on to someone else? Its just another article explaining away long slumps by using all kinds of "analytics" to explain slumps. Byron, like everyone else goes through slumps. It looks like hes coming out of it. He will be fine. He always is. -
Yes the results look great so far. But its funny how the writers will use phrases like "its still early" or "its a small sample size" when their favorite player is struggling. But they seldom use those lines to describe a person when they are talking about players doing unexpectedly well. Yes its too early and its a small sample size for Bradley. Let's see how it goes. Very good article Nick!

Joe Ryan's Start to the Season Has Been... Confusing
Whitey333 replied to Sam Caulder's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Ryan will be fine. Yes its early and the weather has been lousy. Those are typical excuses used when performances are not up to snuff so to speak. IMO that's what Fip and many analytics show. People use the analytics to explain away negative statistics but that is a losers situation. Ryan is ok. It's the weather, bad luck, and no one in the stands. Just saying we have excuses for it all. Ryan is ok. -
Twins Roll Out Monday Night Energy Into a Quiet Ballpark

I think the story should center on the poor attendance not on the broadcast . -

Not sure why people keep ripping Larnach. He was second or third on the team last year in hits and is one of the leading hitters on the team. No hes not a great defender but is still better than some of the guts sent out there. Brooks Lee getting ripped by writers on Twins Daily is getting old and worn out. The same negatives can be said by many in that lineup. It's time for you guys to rip someone else.

Nice win. Im sure the 12,000 that showed up were thrilled. Thank goodness for TwinsTv so i can watch in the warm comfort of home. Some good signs in the team. For goodness sakes dump Outman. Who cares if someone claims him? Big deal. He is No one to fret over. Bring up Roden. He may or may not do well but he sure deserves a shot. He shouldn't have been sent down because Outman is out of options. That's only a small part of what is wrong with this franchise.

Although I'm not a huge Buxton fan, I never have been, he has brought some very entertaining baseball to Twins fans when he is able to play. Will he be in Twins Hall of Fame? Probably yes. Does he belong there? Maybe. We all wish we could have watched an injury free Buck a lot more than we did. I wish him the best.

I never understood the construction of this current 26 man roster. They are 3-6 pretty much what we could have figured given the lack of talent on the team. What in the world does Outman have on the Twins? There is no reason other than he is out of options fir him being there. Release him. You have plenty of help supposedly ready fir the majors now. Get them up here now. This team is lifeless and in a deep sleep.

To me the ABS system is ok. I think the Twins continue to do a terrible job of using it and then blowing their challenges on early game challenges of much significance. It's quite obvious some players are more interested in their personal stats and "looks" than a team concept. It comes across as selfish. And Outman? He doesn't belong on this roster. So what if he doesn't have any options. Release him. He is just taking up space.

Actually none of them. The idea of the Twins extending any young player may be intriguing but seems preposterous and not somethings the Twins consider anyway. Twins need to learn how to scout better. Oh that's right they got rid of the scouting department pretty much. They really need to develop these so called can't miss prospects much better. They must also drop this policy if thinking they have to keep a player like Outman because hes out of options. Such very strange roster decisions this year. Anyway bottom line is no to extending any of those mentioned in the article. They are under team control.

The Twins' Struggles Against Southpaws Aren't a Mirage

Will Tristan Gray Take (Part of) Brooks Lee's Job?
Whitey333 replied to rstuedem945's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I agree with others on here. Lee should be playing everyday to see if he can be productive. Indicating that Lee could be on a short lease coukd certainly be said of several others on this team. Rocco did a very poor job of helping to establish and develop young prospects at the major league level. For several years the Twins have shown that they rarely develop their "can't miss" prospects. They aren't going to be competitive at all this year so let's play and develop the young players. Shelton may not be the one capable of doing that. -
Week in Review: Rough Around the Edges
Whitey333 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
How you didn't mention buxton overrunming second base by a wide margin and get tagged out. Maybe even the fly ball to deep center he gave up on to play it off the bottom half if the wall from about 10 feet away. Buxton usually catches that ball. How about Bell making the cardinal sin of running from second to third on a ball hit to third and running into an out. How about not classifyi g Mick Abel appearance as a bullpen appearance and o ly piggybacking to make the bullpen look good. Lots of mistakes but it was and is expected all season. Fun baseball? No not at all. But we still watch- 18 replies

Week in Review: Rough Around the Edges
Whitey333 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The series was competitive but definitely not good. For all the great plugs you give Buxton you completely ignored the fact that he totally blew the first ABS early in the game. Totally unnecessary and wasted. Also how convenient you didn't m- 18 replies

I always am amazed that we are always told how great the minors leagues are especially at AAA. Well they were a bad team last year so let's wait and see. Also if some of those great can't miss prospects are so good they should be on the Twins NOW instead of the many stiffs and dead weight there. It's probably manipulating player control time or something. I hope the Saints are good but I'd love to see the Twins be competitive.

Nice article. It even tends to solidify the Twins philosophy of hype and hope. Oh dear what a long season it could be. But I still follow t h em. Yes I signed up for Twinstv again. I love MLB just very frustrated with the Twins and their direction. Do they have a direction? It certainly doesn't look like it.

Minnesota Twins 2026 Season Preview: Find The Fun
Whitey333 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Nice article. It serves as a reminder that we surely don't have much of anything to look forward to. I will watch as always but it doesn't mean I have to like it, nor does it mean I approve of them. A very, very strange roster construction. Rocco was a terrible manager IMO but I think Shelton may be worse. As the season clogs along and attendance takes another nosedive I fully expect ownership blaming the low payroll on fans not showing up. It's the Twins way!!
