  1. Yes another tough Pitching loss for a bullpen that overall performs at a minor league level. Banda was pretty decent. Shelton said yesterday he Banda could be out for months.
  2. Ugly win, but a win. Blowing a 7-0 lead starting the 8th was laughable. They do very littlebto fix the bullpen they tore down last year.
  3. Interesting article. No real surprises however. Pundits were speaking of this attendance decline most of this past off season. Ownership dug this problem themselves with a series of public relations blunders the past couple of seasons. It's not going to change overnight if at all until and unless the team is sold to new owners. While there is time to get it back during the second half it will be interesting to see attendance figures once late August and September come around. It could get worse.
  4. Wednesdays game was lost when the Twins went ahead 3-1 and Ryan quickly gave ut away the next at bats. Very deflating. I am already tired of the press talking about moral victories. The best game for Twins was Mondays 2-1 loss. Tuesdays game was total embarrassment. Yes a throwaway game against the Dodgers on national TV. No moral victory there. No moral victory Wednesday. Last time I looked at the MLB standings there was no mention of moral victories. Just wins and losses. Im hoping we can sweep the Rockies this weekend or at least take 2 of 3. Go Twins!
  5. Tge comment "Buck isn't going anywhere" is probably true. Just as the "Twins aren't going anywhere" montra. This is a franchise stuck in cement and IMO in its current state is going nowhere with or without Buxton. His 25 honers are great. Hus 41 RBI in relation to those homers is not. His clutch hitting.is terrible and his fielding, once superior is starting to align more with his peers. Despite the injuries he has been a positive overall. Lets quit making him more than he is. In 11 seasons he has only played 2 full seasons. He is worth keeping but lets not make him more than he is.
  6. I don't think anyone on the Twins should be treated as "don't trade" him. Roce should be considered as traceable depending of course on the return. Twins have been very patient with him over the years. But his time is now to play up to his potential and to stay healthy. The Twins have waited long enough.
  7. Add Voth to the long list of pitchers the Twins have exhumed from the MLB pitchers cemetery. Terrible to play a game on nationally televised game o ly to be a throw away game. After Voth is DFAd to the cemetery due do diligence and conduct an autopsy. Lets find out what they have that appeals to the Twins franchise. Then get rid of whatever it is. Please
  8. Poor Keaschall. Just another poor young player trying to make it and not doing well. I say stick with him. Hes pressing and it shows. Hes the new whipping boy for the Twins deficiencies. How about the steady stream of stiffs DFAd by other teams that end up with the Twins pitching staff? Huge problem to have a throwaway game against the Dodgers on national TV. Embarrassing.
  9. No one Joe winning Cy Young this year. He would need to pitch effectively all season long not just the first half. Plus if he is indeed at his peak and 30 years old it would be smart to trade him while his value is high. Especially since it seems unlikely they will extend him.
  10. Just another Twins loss. Yes they played well overall even though the offense only managed 3 hits. But they lost 2-1 to the two time world series winning Dodgers. Still it's just another loss. This isn't the NHL where you get points in standing for just showing up. Good crowd over 35,000. Gi Twins. Ryan not Pitching Tuesday due to illness
  11. It's so hard to get excited about the Twins draft options or the MLB draft in general. The Twins haven't done all that well in the draft in recent years. Some picks have done OK but too many don't play up to their potential or fizzle out . Plus when you draft high school players you are mostly looking at 3 years or mote.for them to make an impact. But it does fit right in with the Twins position of only hvi g hype a d hope to sell to the fans.
  12. IMO the fact that the Twins are in "contention" is a reflection of the weakness of the American League Central and thr American League as a whole and not that the Twins have such a great roster. The competition gets tougher in the next couple of weeks with the Dodgers and Yankees and others.
  13. Following the Twins can not only be frustrating but confusing. So you bring up a good full time outfielder with good credentials. So why would he only be part time? Although the writer of this article doesn't work for the Twins he's decided how it all works out. Maybe he's right. If he is it surely adds to the confusing part. Twins frequently take full time players and platoon and they play 2-4 times per week. Then when they don't perform to their expectations they demote them or ship them out. Maybe they are positioning themselves for the trade deadline. I hope he does well. Im pulling for him. I just don't think they will keep him long no matter how well he does.
  14. Nice article Nick. It's one thing to lose that's bad enough. But overall they play poo baseball. Buxton? 20 Homer's is very good. He finally hit a 3 run Homer the other day. But he's not Mr. Clutch. I believe he is 0 for 23 this season with runners in scoring position with 2 outs. Draft picks? Hard to get too excited by the Twins upcoming draft based on their history the past several years. I hope they turn it around soon. It would be nice to watch the Twins play good baseball .
  15. Oh hum. Sign another relief pitcher no one else wants.
  16. Since the Twins were 11-7 early in the season they have since gone 19-31 in their past 50. Plus most of that time they played like we thought they would, poorly. Getting so tired of Buxton. Yes he has 19 home runs. But this k if this as he definitely isn't Mr. Clutch. He is 0-22 this season in driving in runs with 2 outs and runners in scoring position. Tuesday after he got a cookie pitch to hit a home run he struck out 4 times and looked very bad at it too. This is a bad baseball team and all the pitching woes and Injuries doesn't help.
  17. It's the same old thing with Twins pitching. Too many ups and downs with far more downs. I think Bradley will just turn out to be an average pitcher. More hype than substance. Not much changes with these Twins.
  18. Interesting article. Very possibly could trade Clemens. The same reasoning for trading him can be said of trading Ryan, Jeffers, and maybe even Buxton if he waves his no trade clause. If you have no intention for contending you may as well trade them while you can get good value in return (hopefully).
  19. Interesting article. Not a good one. Just interesting. Love any Mauer related stories as he doesn't interview much anymore.
  20. He will likely be traded for prospects. I don't see giving him a QO for 23 million when they have been cutting payroll for quite some time now. And if somehow the Twins were given $23 million more in payroll it wouldn't make much sense to spend it on one player when you could get 3 or 4 players for that 23 mil.
  21. Just another ho hum bullpen pitcher that another team dumped. I hope he does well here. It's just the continued process of throwing something at the wall and see if it sticks.
  22. It is strange that Outman keeps a spot on this team. He provides very little and produces even less. But they keep him? Don't they have ANYOBE in minors to promote? If not then this team is in much worse shape than I thought. Outman must have something on someone. It sure isn't that he is a major league baseball player.
  23. Yes the Twins should trade Ryan and probably Jeffers too. I just don't see the Twins paying upwards to $30 million per year to Ryan. He is g
  24. I was afraid when Shelton was hired we would get Rocco 2.0 which would have been disastrous. He is much better than Rocco but still just average in my view. At the end I gave Rocco an F. So far I give Shelton a c+ maybe even a b-
  25. Good article but perhaps a little overblown. It shouldn't affect the Twins so much as they have a reputation for having prospects linger in the minors. They should be happy because then their service time clock will be presumably held back. Walker and Gonzales near ready? How do we know that? They are on the injured list as much if not more than playing.
