  1. There has obviously been some animosity between Joe Ryan and the Twins over the years. I will not be surprised to see Ryan traded at some point. They should trade him while they can get something decent trade for him. It seems very unlikely that they are going to sign him to a long term deal anytime soon. Not with this ownership group and new payroll budgets. Anyway Ryan has been good the first half of each of the past two seasons and has been poor in the second half. This team is nowhere near contending. Trade Ryan, Lopez and even Buxton while you can get something good for them.
  2. Same old bs from Falvey year after year. In present form this roster is full of many has been, many can't miss top prospects that haven't come close to making it, adding players to 1 year contracts, picking up leftovers from the mlb dollar store. So far that plan of Falvey really hasn't produced much. Also when the payroll was the highest in the AL Central in the $150 million range he did a lousy job of distributing those dollars. Yes I believe they can be contenders in 2026. Contenders with the White Sox for last place.
  3. Well they did sign a few good or at least decent players late off season last year. So what good does it do to sign players other teams don't want to 1 year contracts? What kind of a commitment or indication of planning is that? Seems rather foolish. So what if you get a couple decent players and make no commitment to them or the team? They still finished 70-92 last year with record low attendance. We have missed playoffs 4 of last 5 years and played very boring undisciplined baseball. Falvey has been here 10 years. In that time we have only had one year with 90 or more wins. This is progress? Even if they sign more players to one year deals it doesn't show any commitment to winning and it's sustainability for the Twins.
  4. None of the internal options move the needle at all. Im pretty sure that's where our bullpen comes from. I do like the Roger's signing even though he is definitely on the down slide of his career. Good low budget possible good outcome signing.
  5. Leave Stanton out of any potential trade. He's too expensive even with buy downs and more importantly doesn't fit it with the Twins. Yes trade Ryan. Trade Lopez too. Lopez is good but doesn't fit in with the Twins salary structure. Kind of a luxury on a likely non competitive team. Ryan should return a good haul if he is traded before the season starts. IMO if the CBA negotiations are only leading to the lockout I can't see many teams moving much of value if there may be little or no 2027 season. Buxton should be traded too. He deserves the chance to play on a co.petitive team with a chance to win a championship.
  6. I too don't understand why the Twins haven't already traded Ryan, Lopez, Buxton, and Jeffers. With an anticipated payroll of now $108 million, too much of it is tied up into too few players. Attendance was lousy all year even when those players were on the team. And all these great can't miss prospects haven't proven anything yet. A lot of wishful thinking for 2026. I hope they do well but I just don't see it. Im expecting another record low attendance year this year. Trading this year at the deadline could be interesting if progress is not made on a new CBA. Why trade then when it's possible there won't be much of a season. Innings 2027. Trade those players now whole you can maybe get a decent return.
  7. Ridiculous idea. It's Friday. It has to be one of those sarcastic click bait articles. Hello? Anyone there TD?
  8. I think it's a great and affordable signing. Do I think this makes them a 500 team? No way, not close. Way too many holes on this team. To many top expectations from either unproven or oft injured players. Same old hope and hype. I want it all to work but for the first time in decades I'm not going to be so gullible to believe all the bs from Falvey. They are going to have to prove it to me. Attendance? I'm sure down again this year. Of the 81 home games 17 of them are in April. Not the best drawing month for the Twins.
  9. Just another in a long list of who cares moves made by the Twins. Since they are going to be awful, I still think they should trade Lopez and Ryan and probably Jeffers and Buxton too while they can get something quality prospects for them.
  10. So where has all this "patience" gotten the team? Missed playoffs 4 of past 5 years, a perpetual state of minor additions that may offer very little help, signing guys very few other teams want, signing low level players and hope something sticks and further alienating a diminishing fan base. Bottom line is its dumpster diving ad nauseum. It's the Twins way. It's boring and although you can occasionally get a bargain with left over scrubs you mostly get another boring losing tea.. its the Falvey Way.
  11. Well yet another in a long list of articles about great prospects. This has been going on for years with the Twins. And almost steady since Falvey took over. That is sell hope and hype. That's all the Twins have. It is a good article though it's the.e is so tiring.
  12. Yes trade those players soon while you can get something decent for them. The team is going to be bad anyway. Plus all of Ryan, Lopez and Buxton each have their own injury and at times performance issues. Trade them while you still can.
  13. This off season is very typical of the Falvey regime Twins maybe even more so. Don't sign anyone that can really help your team. Wait until late in off season when the prices may come down. Go dumpster diving at the dollar store for what's left over. Nothing has changed. They sell hope and hype. Both of which just lands you at the bottom of the barrel. At least the ticket sale department won't be overworked.
  14. Nice article. Since the Twins appear to have NO intention of being competitive in 2026, a decision to keep Ryan and Lopez, and Buxton and perhaps Jeffers shows how incompetent Falvey is. If the plan is to not be competitive you should trade those players while there value is at a peak. Why keep them if you don't care about winning anyway?
  15. Just another in a long line of Twins can't miss prospects and hopefuls. Just more of the same bs from the Falvey regime. Hope and hype. That's all they have to sell to the fans and it isn't much.
  16. Just more bs propaganda from Twins trying to stir up even a little bit of interest. Article is way over blown. Seems to me we have wrecked more young players development and careers than helped. Too many can't miss prospects do just that: they miss. Click bait article? It obviously isn't serious!
  17. All these projections and analytical garbage from sites like Steamer and many others are a joke. They are never wrong. Are they? Are they? It's not even serious discussion
  18. Sorry he had to leave the game he loves. Does he have to return his signing bonus?
  19. Yawn, yawn, yawn. Another exciting Twins move. Im sure there is more like these to come. Just 6 morr weeks to spring training. Can't wait to see out Twins 26 man roster of has been, misfits, hopefuls, look like in 2026. Just another dumpster diving move. I just don't see the Wagaman move as a good one.
  20. First FanGraphs is one of the least accurate and dependable baseball analysts. Second why is the Buxton contract considered "team friendly?" If you just took 2025 then yes he was under paid for THAT season. But what about all the other years where he only plaid half or slightly more of a season. We could call them " player friendly" for being a part time player. I mean really the Twibs paid him $100 million dollars for a part time player. As I recall I don't think they held a gun to Buxtons head to make him sign. He obviously thought the deal was good enough and he signed it. As this season approaches it looks like another "run it back" philosophy that has failed. I hope all these over hyped prospects do pan out. Ive been waiting for good baseball for quite sometime. Maybe the question will be will anyone attend the games at beautiful Target Field.
  21. Based on rosters today yes the Twins should be in contion. They will contend for last place with White Sox in central.
  22. Nice well thought out article. MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone at Twins Daily and to all the great Twins fans out there.
  23. The premise of your article is correct. A strong farm system for the Twins is of the utmost importance. But all too often the farm system operates on hope and hype. Each year it's the same as people talk about can't miss prospects. In the Twins case all too often those can't miss prospects miss. They don't pan out they regress or just prove they may be AAA or AAAA type players that never reach their often over hyped potential. I sure hope this supposedly #2 ranked miss or league system pans out. Im just not buying the ridiculous over hype of our prospects anymore. Prove it first.
  24. As usual the teams philosophy this year is to build on hype and hope . These time is right to trade both Ryan and Lopez while they can still get something decent in return.
