Some Pitching pipeline...yes some of the guys pitched well toward the end but how can you count on them after just a couple good starts? They will undoubtedly give the young guys ample chances to prove themselves. I don't see anyway that they keep Lopez with his 21.5 million in salary due next year. It doesn't fit their philosophy. Ryan? I'm saying it's 50/50 if he gets traded. They should keep him but this ownership group and Falvey don't have a clue.

Twins are resting Buxton on Sunday. The final game of the season. I understand it's part tradition to rest veterans of non contending teams on the last day. Why? I don't know. But it doesn't make me wonder about Buxton. How could he ever agree to something like that with the great year he is having? I don't get it. If I'm not mistaken he has all winter to rest up. I think it dims Buxtons light somewhat.

I think some gullible Twins fans like me believed this crap from the Twins. But after 60 years of it im done. Yes I will continue to follow them. After all bad habits are hard to break. But the grandois of thinking thus ownership and front office bs is legit is over for me. Loyalty can only go so far. It's the end of the line

Derek Falvey’s Pitch for Hope in Twins Territory
Whitey333 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Typical Falvey BS although i guess what do you expect him to say? That's all he is a salesman with a worn out refrain. All he sells is hope and hype, over hype- 64 replies

Typical, albeit not typical, end to another year of Twins baseball. Keeping Lopez would be nice but not very likely considering the teams payroll dump and his 21.5 million salary for next season. Rocco needs to go but only if he takes Falvey with him. IMO a key start to this off-season and a start to revive some fan interest would e to immediately dump Falvey AND Baldelli. A new voice is needed. If they make Rocco the scapegoat by firing him but keep Falvey would be a huge mistake.

It is interesting that they run more. Is it because they got rid of some of the non base stealing players? We have younger and faster players now? Is Baldelli just pissed off at the direction of the team and decided to do things his way? Is it because Baldelli knows hes not coming back next year and he is finally managing he would like? It is interesting. But as one poster said they are still losing.

Who Will Be The Minnesota Twins' Closer in 2026?
Whitey333 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Twins won't sign any free agents that are any good. They cost too much for them. The closer for next year is irrelevant. The Twins will be in very little situations where a closer is needed. Contenders need quality closers not pretenders.- 64 replies

I've been a long time critic of Buxton. I will admit he has had a great season. He's been one of the very few Twins to follow this year. Problem is it took Buxton 10 years, yes 10 years to have this great season. Almost as much time as hes been kn the injured list lol. It's so sad for him that it comes in a season where the Twins are so bad and who's competitive future is almost non existent. Ober pitched well Thirsday but he has had a horrible season. I'd like to see Ryan bounce back and have a great start against the Phillies. He's been pretty poor the past 7 starts.

Joe Ryan Is Failing to Answer His Biggest Question
Whitey333 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Twins may just as well trade him this coming off season. Get what you can. Lopez too with his 21 million salary. Ryan is good but struggled end of season. 180 innings and hes tired? Oh my. I long for the years where starting pitchers pitched. It was normal to have pitchers work 250 innings per year. Many times over 300 innings. Most of today's pitchers are wimpy and pitch 5 or 6 innings and they think they've done well. Managers nit letting them stay in the game much longer as they bow to the great analytics. Oh my. -
Twins 4, Rangers 1: The Piranhas Strike Again
Whitey333 replied to Eric Blonigen's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Nice game by Matthew's. You never know ow which Matthew's you are getting. Very inconsistent. Twins played nice. The normal one or two wins a week. -
Twins look to be a total train wreck next year at this point. I am sure more trades are coming and the Twibs bs about all the great can't miss prospects they have. That's their marketing theme: hope and hype. That's all. Yes Martin deserved a starting spot next year. Many of the people you listed as outfield competition for outfield positions next year have shown little or no ability to play Major League Baseball.
-
That's all there is hype and hope. These can't miss prospects ts almost always miss in Twins land. I e been duped too often by this Falvey/Baldelli regime. They both need to go. In any case unless something majorly good for the Twins in the off seasonlook for even .ore empty seats at Target field in 2026. If they let Baldelli go but keep Falvey you are going to get a clone of Baldelli. Get rid of them both!!

It's always hope and hype for the Falvey/Baldelli lef organization. Now you throw the new can't miss prospects list at us. Very few of the can't miss prospects make and many who make it to the Twins team seem to take steps backward. The front office is best at spewing lies and false hope. Those projected big drops in attendance is deserved
-
What a tragedy this team and organization have become. There really isn't much hope is there! You keep mentioning the deep farm system. That has been the Twins mantra for years. Especially during the Falvey regime. Sell hope and hype because there is very little else. Same old thing with the current can't miss prospects only the names have changed.

Good article. If analytics are so great and helpful, why then do the Twins suck? There is very little talent on this team and has been like that for a couple of years. It's Falvey.

What a joke of a story. Baldelli amongst Twins best all time managers? Ridiculous. Now co.pare him with some of the worst. Must be a click bait story. Or one of those satire stories. It can't be real!!

Way over done. IMO this new analytics on every conceivable pitch, hit, etc is way over done. If for example, if the great analytics department and our field manager Mr. Baldelli were so good with the analytics shouldn't we have been in first place? Oh that's true maybe the players just aren't that good. Where's the analytics for that? For the people the drafted them, trained them, and managed them what analytics measurements are used for them? This new era of baseball is bringing the sport down.
-
No way the Twins keep Lopez and his 22 million salary. Very unlikely they keep Ryan. He hasn't done much at all since the all star break. No way they will add anything significant. Very likely payroll will be slightly under 100 million total. These types of articles are almost as much of a joke as the ones telling us again about all the great can't miss prospects that usually miss.

Interesting game. Nice comeback but almost a win is not a win. I knew we would be in trouble right away when you look at the lineup Baldelli threw out there. Both Lee and Keaschall not in lineup when they clearly could have helped. Not even used as pinch hitters or defensive replacements. Then to leave Matthew's in so long while he was getting hammered is disgraceful. It signaled to a nice crowd and the players that he had little intention on winning. The fact they came back proves all the runs Matthew's gave up mattered. What does it do for his confidence to let him hang out there to dry? Save the bullpen? What for there's only a week and a half left. Just another example of Baldelli having a huge part in the loss. Twins also just fired their entire remaining scouting department to save money. Baldelli may or may not survive the continued purge. Problem is they are keeping Falvey so even if Baldelli goes we will just get a clone of him.
-
Just another in a long line of what ifs. What if the players play up to and beyond their potential. What if the prospects come up and do great? Hope and over-hype. That's the Twiins philosophy. Don't sell good baseball. Just keep selling hope and hype. Why would you dump Lee after basically one season? For Kulpepper? Come on. There's several players that should be dumped before Lee including Royce Lewis. They are miles from contending anytime soon.

Twins 7, Yankees 0: Signature Simeon Woods Richardson
Whitey333 replied to Nate Palmer's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Yes indeed. Great game Twins. Probably the most thorough game they played all year. Yankees looked tired and totally disengaged from the first game. A series win or even a sweep would be great.- 29 replies

Not sure why Brooks Lee gets all the hate. Sure he has a long way to go. Sure he needs to improve on defense. Many players fall into that same category. Wallner either hits a solo home run or strikes out. Not too complicated there. This team is so bad that like always they over hype the prospects in the h e minors. We got several of them on the 26 man roster (oops 28) struggling. This organization needs a major overhaul.

Yes it's so unfortunate but hes not the only Twin with star caliber stats to play on poor teams or to be injured. Buxton has had a great season no doubt. But it's about time. It's taken him 10 years to get here. He should waive his no trade clause this off season so he can perhaps get traded to an organization that cares about winning.
