  1. Perhaps if the great Correa would have performed to expectations the Twins may not have been in this spot. Twins did a great job in getting rid of him but IMO over did the trading deadline. Correa and his ego did not do the team any favors. Although he is surely not the only cause of the teams demise he certainly is at or near the top. Now if someone else's would finally make Falvey and Baldelli take responsibility for this team by firing them, then the rebuild will be complete. At least for now. I suspect, depending on possible new owners that more salary dumping will happen in the off season especially Lopez.
  2. Does anyone really believe Falvey and Baldelli should be kept in charge of the mess they created,? They have already proven they should not have anything g to do with this team moving forward. Listening to Falvey on tv broadcast shows he cares little about the Twins. I get upset everytime I see him and that stiff Baldelli knowing their roll in ruining our franchise. They both must go

    Fight On

Sorry to hear of your plight. I truly hope things work out and you get better. Im 71 years old and been following the team religiously since the 1960's. I will still watch them but this is one of the worst periods I have ever witnessed. Yes even worse than the threats of contraction. .you see im a big Twins fan. But a very gullible one. For quite a while I bought into Falvey and all his bs and corporate double speak. I was gullible to believe they really cared about us fans. I was gullible to think they really cared about winning . I was gullible to think they cared about the product they put on the field. This franchise is at its lowest point. They used to be a fun, energetic and prideful organization. Now they are an embarrassment to many. Although some of the trades were understandable many were not. What it does show is that Falvey is not suited for this job. Both he and Baldelli need to go. For the 0ast 60 years they have been a big part of my life. Just had it all taken away.
  4. This rebuild cannot be considered complete until both Rocco and Falvey are replaced.
  5. My sentiment is while I agree with a rebuild of sort I think it went too far. I'm not quite sure trading away most of your bullpen was smart. Trading Varland for example seems unnecessary. When the dust settled i had this feeling of being used and being dumped on. I can't help but feel like a lot of this was done in spite. In spite of the fans, mlb old and new ownership. But it's not complete until both Falvey and Baldelli are gone. Keep in mind that Falvey put this team together in the first place. It's his fault in a big part that this happened. They both have proven they can't be trusted. They have failed the franchise. They have failed the fans. Both Baldelli and Falvey must go.
  6. Saints more entertaining? Forget it. They are just a by product of the major league team. Yes we knew trades were coming but this was way over done. And it's not complete. At least not until both Falvey and Baldelli are canned. Part of me thinks Falvey dumped everyone either by orders from old and new management or put of spite for probably being told he's not coming back. It's just a thought. I hope there is nothing mean spirited in these trades. Im just not sure. After it's all done you can't help but wonder......
  7. Well the sell off had to happen. And selling rental players seldom gets you much. So it is what it is. However let's not forget that Falvey built this so called baseball team. He is mainly, but not solely to blame for tge Twins having to do this. Baldelli is joined at the hip with Falvey. They both need to go if and when the team is sold. It's really the same old thing for Twins. Trade for prospects and hope. We've seen so many of these prospects come and go. .mostly go. While Falvey co veniently blames everything on injuries, bad luck and bad umpiring, it is his responsibility for the state of the team. Even if he doesn't take responsibility. The Twins are a mess due in large part to Falvey
  8. What a lousy game. But very typical of Baldelli. His team has been listless, no lifeless, for a long time. Anyone that watched the whole fiasco could see the confirmation that Rocco "lost" this team. The game management was circus like. Plus pulling Jax at home for Clemens was a joke. Personally I think MLB should ban letting players other than pitchers pitch. It makes a farce of the whole game. I just think removing Jax in that situation for a position player was typical classless Baldelli. Don't do that at home in front of your own fans. Save that for the road. Maybe he was told that a Jax trade was imminent and he had to be pulled but I doubt it. The game was so bad that I almost was starting to like Audra Martin and her sideline babbling over the game action. Ok I said almost. I love Provus and Span but Audra sure doesn't add much to the broadcast.
  9. Should they consider trading Correa? Of course. This team is a train wreck. Will they trade Correa? Very unlikely especially by the trade deadline. Slightly better chance during the off season but still unlikely. Worry about the organizations reputation? Come on how silly and far fetching is that? Let's face the fact that it's already been tarnished by so many instances it won't matter. Personally I hope they do trade him for something reasonable. He has almost become a bust. He certainly hasn't played up to superstar status during his Twins career. But reality is i don't think he's being traded at this time.
  10. Falvey is mainly responsible for putting this group together. This will now be four of the past 5 years we will miss the playoffs. Listening to him telling us over the years how good these players are only to have him spew out the same ex uses as to why they are not winning is getting so old. Ive been very critical of Falvey and Baldelli. I still am. It's not because I'm a Twins hater. Quite the contrary. Ive been a huge follower of the Twins since the mid 1960s. I just see no development or progress being made. Same old thing year after year. We as fans are suppose to accept mediocrity i guess. I don't accept it. When new ownership finally takes over they must dump falvey and baldelli as a starting point. This team needs an influx of positivity and a new direction very badly.
  11. I agree that you must let players like Lee play every day. If he goes 0 for 4 don't bench him for days on end. Young players must play to develop at the major league level. IMO the insistence of platonic is hurting player development
  12. Very interesting comments by all. I find myself almost depressed over the current Twins. They Do play very boring baseball. This Twins brand is so stale that people are clamoring for new ownership. New ownership will need to instill some excitement. They need to get rid of both Falvey and Rocco just to start with. But it's just my opinion. And it seems more and more that any contrary opinions from the writer is apparently wrong and taboo
  13. Trade Ryan? I don't think it will happen. Ryan looks like he could be a Pitching piece to build around. J think the Ryan trade hype is just that: hype. This so called open windows for Twins is about closed. Those can't miss prospects we have are not showing much. Trade your expiring contracts so you at least get something. But at the end of the day the philosophy of running it back out there hasn't worked. The team needs an influx of positivity. They are still boring and this station to station baseball they play is getting them nowhere. We have missed the playoffs 3 of past 4 years with much of the same core players. It will soon be 4 of last 5 years. It isn't working unless the goal is mediocrity.
  14. This team has been listless for a long time. It hasn't done the Twins much good to horde many of these can't miss prospects. They missed. They have regressed and now have hurt their trade value. Why are we afraid to break up this core? They haven't done much for 4 years. It's time to move some players and get a real manager while they are at it.
  15. I give Ryan a break of sorts. Even though it's against the lowly Nats he can't be expected to be on top of his game all the time. Many of our other players are hardly ever on the top of their game. Wallner looks lost. It's almost an automatic strikeout or out with him. Many a Twin player in the past has been demoted for not doing nearly as bad. Correa had an awful game especially defensively. If the official scorer wasn't as soft as the Twins hitters Carlos could have had two. But the Twins announcers gush over him like he is some kind of god. Oh please. Why can't they be honest with fans. We see what's going on. We have too many veterans that don't care and are just going through the motions. We have too many young players that are either stagnant or regressing. There is stink on this team and organization. It needs to be cleansed.
  16. Not surprised by their lack of effort. It's a staple with this team. Friday they slept walked to a 1-0 game and got a win. Saturday was similar to the series with the Rockies. Remember that one? We were understandably expecting a series sweep against the worst team in baseball. We nearly got swept ourselves only winning one game. This has been a joke of a team.
  17. Perhaps even the Yankees. They are reeling and now Judge is on the IL with a bad elbow, or flexor strain. Im pretty sure the Twins will trade him. He's been a good player for the Twins and could be a great asset for a real contender. Excellent article.
  18. Nice game for Matthew's. Not so much for the Twins. They won which is more important and Ryan Pitching Saturday should be a guaranteed win. Still our great offense only got 3 hits . Go Twins!
  19. Excellent well thought out article. Im not a fan of Falvey. I think for all the reasons you listed, he and Baldelli have dragged the franchise down not up. Im not sure how you skirt around Falvey making these decisions though. IMO Falvey can't be totally trusted to make these decisions. But here we go. Best thing a new owner could do is replace the front office. Yes this includes both Falvey and Baldelli.
  20. So what has Falvey done for the Twins? He sells hope, promise and what is. He's very good at that. But let's face it. His results have been very mediocre. He has been here 9 years i believe. During this time he has produced one team with at least 90 wins. They have missed the playoffs 3 of past 4 years while he keeps telling us how good the team and farm system. My contention is he is ruining this franchise. The young core they keep talking about has been way overrated and regressing in nature. He doesn't trade for a pitcher unless it has arm troubles lol. He has created this mess but I don't know if he can fix it. The best thing a new owner could do is dump both Falvey and Baldelli. Then dump some of the coaches and minor league people. This organization needs a thorough housecleaning.
  21. Like most players on the team Larnach is expendable. The Twins so called win ing open windows is quickly shutting. Maybe it's shut now. Perhaps it hasn't really been open. Larnach like so many other of our core young players have under-performed , regressed, or perhaps otherwise been poorly developed and/or scouted. It seems that many of them play full time in minors then come up to a platoon system and wind up playing part time. I think larnach as well as other players are traceable but probably won't get much in return.
  22. I saw in a podcast the other day that Correa has a WAR of near zero. Not very good for a man eating up about 35 mil per year on payroll. Except for a few flashes here and there he's been a big disappointment for the Twins.
  23. I agree with the last poster. Ownership for being disinterested and not having much public relations skills. Tge front office for standing still and not trying to improve the team then blaming it on a tight budget. My contention has been that it isn't the payroll dollars it's how the FO has allocated them. The cheap pohlads montra understandable as it may be tends to be with little merit. They have had, and continue to have the highest or close highest payroll in the Central division. At last check I believe they were 19 out if 30 teams in total team payroll dollars. Falvey and company have done a terrible job of budgeting their payroll dollars. Also the manager deserves a lot.of blame. His lineups are strange and his stubbornness to stick to the plan even when losing is ridiculous. He is terrible at in game managing and leadership. It's mind-boggling to understand how he has lasted this long. The best thing any new ownership could do is dump both Falvey and Baldelli.
  24. I notice that you never mention the missed balls and strikes that benefit the Twins. Losers lament: if you can't win it must be someone else's fault like the umpires. I noticed your article never questioned or even mention that Baldelli walked Ohtani with first base already occupied. Sure you didn't want to face him but it's not generally accepted as a managerial strategy to intentionally walk a batter and not only move tge the tying run into scoring position but giving the potential winning run on first with an intentional walk. It's crazy how some people blame other things for the Twins poor play and results. It's simple. The Twins had a great chance to win two of three against a struggling dodger team. Instead they lost two of three and keep looking for excuses when many times they need to just look in the mirror.
  25. The Twins have all these great can't miss players yet they are on the verge of missing the playoffs for the fourth time in the past five years. The team is stagnant and needs a boost or needs to retool yet they mainly sit and do nothing. It's the Twins way. Hype and hope
