  1. N Ice win Twins against a AAA type A's team. A's have now lost 18 of last 19 games and you can see why. But Twins responded well. Twins really should sweep this series. At least take 3 of 4 with Tigers playing white Sox this week. Go Twins!!
  2. Thanks for the lecture about how Twins fans need to be patient. What a bunch of crock! All of us diehard Twins fans have been patient for many years. It gets old when people get criticized because they are critical of the team. Last year you ( sports writers) lectured us to be patient. You over hyped this team the past few years. Last year they choked the final month and a half. I would imagine you called it a good stretch of baseball. I hope the win the division. We shall see.
  3. Not surprised about this . The Trump regime and it's radical right agenda is founded on lies, false facts, and hopes and dreams. Much like the Twins season. Pohlads are going to have to come down in price and pay off their own debt if the are really serious about selling the team.
  4. Great article. The current bullpen usage is not sustainable over the long haul. Yes offense is key but so is pushing starters to pitch at least 6- 7 innings each time out.
  5. Great win for Twins!! It was unbelievable. Sometimes it's nice to have insomnia!!
  6. It's so frustrating. It just never seems to end. It's hard as a Twins fan these past few years to get excited about these can't miss prospects.
  7. Sometimes I wonder if hitters are are just plain being inundated with too much information. Metric gone wild. Perhaps some players, even Royce Lewis, get information overload. Thinking too much about metrics and how to hit when maybe he should just hit. Remember what made him a hitter and a major league player and a good hitter. Just hit Royce! You can do it. Just unclog your mind with all the info you may be receiving. Just relax, hit, you can do it. Not hitting due to luck? That's ridiculous. BTW perhaps the writer of the article should be the hitting coach of the Twins. He certainly seems to have all the answers. Or at least he thinks he does.
  8. Nice article although nothing new. My question has always been is the 425 million in debt due solely to finance baseball related expenses? Or is the debt from borrowing from the Twins to support the other Pohlad businesses or both? My feeling is if it is to just pay for the Twins operations that is scary. Also it begs the question a out why they have t dumped payroll to try to balance the books. Twins are roughly a little, but not much below league average in payroll and still lead the Central division in payroll. I'm surprised they are carrying as much payroll as they are. If they are borrowing from the Twins to support the Pohlad empire that is also scary. Why would any potential owner want to pick up that much debt that may have been used to support Pohlad businesses? I would think the Pohlads only chance to sell is if they pay off their own̈ debt and not expect others to.
  9. Keep Bride for as long as you can. He has earned it. Kiersey can't hit major league Pitching but can play some defense. I'm losing confidence in Lewis. The I don't do slumps guy has had many slumps since and is looking awful at the plate again. Go Twins!!
  10. The Twins are 3-4 since their 13 game winning streak ended. Actually that's about what they are. Average or slightly above average team with good potential but many flaws.
  11. Well it is amazing what a great 20 game streak of 16-4 will do. Don't forget they were 7-13 in their first 20 games and played lousy. I think they are right in the middle between those stretches. They are above average at this point not great. I am actually surprised the Pohlads haven't dumped some payroll since the attendance is down and TV reven̈ues are a disaster. I think there spending is more than adequate. Go Twins.
  12. What a bunch of junk. More ridiculous use of metrics mainly designed to make poor players look good and good or decent players putting up results to look bad. Again baseball analytics making a nice simple fun game unnecessarily complicated and cumbersome. Over analyzing EVERYTHING!! Ridiculous.
  13. It's great watching the Twins win these games. So many contributions from role players. Great pitc
  14. Nice job Twins. 12 game winning streaks are great. What's even better is the great Pitching and and the resiliency of the young players coming through in clutch moments. IMO losing Castro would be very bad. His ability to play so many positions is vital to the teams success with all the injuries. Let's get number 13 in a row Saturday. Go Twins!
  15. Clemens has been a very reliable and valuable addition . Plus he's produced some big help in tough situations at the plate. But he sure isn't a defensive help especially at 1st base. But thank you Kody for helping us out in this nice 10 game winning streak.
  16. The article is very positive. We need some positivity. Lewis? Who knows? Remember he finished last season very poorly at a time we needed him most. He claimed after playing 80 games he was tired. My oh my. I hope he comes around. Let's not forget that the Twins were 7-13 in their first 20 games and played terribly. They are 14-6 in their next 20 games. Great job. But let's be realistic here. The people that said when they were 7-13 kept saying it's early. Well their 14-6 record since doesn't YET make them champions. It's still too early right? I guess not if we are winning. It's a good thing we started winning or we would be way behind as Cleveland, Detroit, and Kansas City are even hotter. Great job Twins!!
  17. Surprised Baldelli sent in Jax. He has now pitched in 4 of past 5 days. Alcala hasn't pitched at all. Stewart has pitched on̈ce and sands twice. He had other options. I'm glad it worked out. I just hope they don't burn out Jax. He's thrown 76 pitches this week.
  18. I also have fond memories of Herb Carneal. I grew up listening to his great voice and knowledge. I could always visualize what was happening by the way he described the game. Plus there were times that nothing was said for a few seconds. This was awesome as you could hear fans in the stands. Announcers now can never shut up. Except Cory Provus. I love him too. But corneal was special.
  19. FanGraphs is a joke. As is many of the new analytics. The Twins with this FO frequently dumpster dived for bargain basement deals. It hardly ever works. The 3 additions mentioned are nk different. They are playing well now. The kind of baseball that is fun to watch but it took them 40 games just to get to 500. Making FanGraphs seem like a legit financial estimator is as silly as saying Correa is underpaid at 35 million a year. Ridiculous.
  20. Yes for sure on Mauer. He was awesome plus being home grown talent. The Twins didn't have much choice. They HAD to sign him. Buxton not so much. He's having a great year NOW but essentially it took 10 years for this to happen. The estimates of FanGraphs has always been a joke. Over estimating a players worth and contributions. FanGraphs is the LAST baseball source for me. Must be put out by the players association lol
  21. Nice to see some good baseball for a change. I'm not sure how long it will last but it is fun. It's a good thing too. We are still 7 games behind first place Detroit . But just think of how far behind we would be if we weren't winning. Keep it up Twins!
  22. Nice streak for Twins. Great to see Buxton playing so well!! It has taken 10 years to get him to this point. I hope he continues to have a great season. The Twins will need that.
  23. Nice game Twins. A thorough win in all areas. A little worried about Lewis. Not his 0 for 3 but he looked fragile running. One time he quickly grabbed his hamstring. To me he didn't look healthy. I hope he is truly ok.
  24. Ryan has pitched great. Do we need to analyze the validity in calling him an ace? Does it matter? Also he came to us in a trade with Tampa Bay. I don't think he's been with the Twins organization since day one. He has been awesome. Ace status or not.
