The Gallo signing and the failed trades for oft injured pitchers and an organizational philosophy of using Twins as a reclamation team should be enough nails in the coffin to get rid of the front office but it won't be. We will be stuck with the same boring team unless and until they are gone.

Yes this team has been playing boring undisciplined baseball for two and a half seasons. The veteran hitters for the most part have been bad. Oh sure Buxton hits two long Homer's against Boston and people say he's back. Of course he goes on another hitless streak with several more strikeouts. And obviously the manager blames it on his I Jared back he's had trouble with for most of the season. How convenient isn't. Then fir whatever reason they refuse to put him on IL. I suppose he may get traumatized. They many times rest him fir several days without an IL designation. This just limits Roccos Ben h even more. If he's to hurt to even be the DH the. IL him. He is hurting, not helping the team. Very strange team indeed.

My guess is that although he should be gone today they will keep him until at least the trade deadline and more likely dump him after the season. I also was one of those that questioned Gallos signing especially fir 11 mill. He instantly became one of the highest paid players on this Twins team. 11 mil for a guy with a career 199 average and a strikeout rate near 40%. I'm sure we have AAA players can do that at about the minimum salary. Gallo has been a bust. It's time for Wallner and Larnach. Let's move on from some of these veterans that seem to just be going through the motions. This team has been stuck in neutral for two and a half seasons. Get some players in here with some drive and enthusiasm.

Great win. Great job Joe Ryan. Ert Blyleven and his 61 career shutout wins I'm sure is very proud of you as well. Very nice two games against Boston. Now on to Detroit. Let's not blow this opportunity This time. Remember last week when we played two great games against Brewers then laid an egg by losing 3 of 4 to Tigers and first two of Boston series and playing very poor baseball losing 5 of 6. With Braves and Orioles coming up we cannot afford to lay another egg. We all keep hoping that something sparks the team into a win ING streak. Buxton? Good for him. Let's face the facts here. A 3 game hitting g streak albeit a nice and timely one doesn't erase the otherwise poor year he is having. When he is hitting poorly the manager is quick to point out its due to his injuries. It's funny how the injury talk goes away when he gets in one of his increasingly infrequent hot streaks. But we need buck and Carlos if we are to really be competitive. Let's sweep the Tigers. Go Twins

Twins are a strange team. Now they have many on here thinking they have turned it around or that this ma help them turn it around. We have been saying this all year. Maybe this or maybe that will turn them around. Let's be truthful here. We need a good streak. No a one game winning streak won't do it. Until the team somehow fixes their significant deficiencies, a 500 team is about all you can hope for.

Now Is Not the Time for a Six-Man Rotation
Whitey333 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
6 man rotation? No way for all the reasons you mentioned. Also questioning why they are so concerned about Maeda. He's 35, just off Tommy John then another injury. He's a free agent at the end of the season. He certainly doesn't seem like a long term fit here. Cut him loose and let one of the young players come up and pitch. Unless of course they can find another injured or injury prone pitcher to replace Maeda. It seems that's the type of pitcher they want. -
The Twins Have a Type When it Comes to Trades
Whitey333 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
It's a great article by Reusse. The local sports media needs to start being a little more critical of the FO. They have made some very questionable moves and signings. Yet they never seem to be held accountable. As far as Buxton and Corre having no trade clauses. That doesn't mean they can't or won't be traded. Many times players with no trade clauses have them waived for an opportunity to be traded perhaps to a contender. That and of course plenty of cash to waive their no trade clause. But Bu ton and Correa aren't going anywhere. They are paid way too much. Not many teams would take on their salary for what little production they give us. Also why would they want to waive their no trade clause? They make a ton of money hear and don't have tgd media pressure that other teams have. Anyway thus FO and manager are proving to be a bust.- 31 replies

This has been a mess since the start of the 2021 season and it seems to get worse. This has been and continues to be one of the most boring twins teams in recent memory. What makes these past three years tougher is tge FO telling us how good we are. Dave st. Peter even said this team is a world series team. Really? Does he even bother to watch this mess? At least in years past we knew the team wasn't going to be that good. Now they sign free agents and make trades they say to help us. If this is our window of opportunity I'd hate to see the bottom. This team has been lifeless for three years now. They play boring ball, make way too many mistakes. It's also hard to figure out where they are going. They tend to treat mist of their younger players with disdain in favor of washed up veterans with no heart. Something needs to change soon.

Great comments by all. Aaraez had 5 hits again last night. Not here to bum rap the trade but we did trade a batting champion that plays everyday for a starting pitcher that is historically is , and continues to be, a 500 pitcher at best. Then we extend him to a big contract. Very strange indeed. By the way Aaraez has more hits than our "superstars" Correa and Buxton combined.

Twins are just a so so 500 team in a rotten division playing boring baseball. Losing 3 of 4 to Detroit at home is inexcusable. They were lucky to win the one game. That too was very boring. Buxton is a disgrace. I'm not sure that he automatically becomes a viable major league hitter bh throwing him in center field. If he's hurt put him ob the IL again. Thus team is listless. Gallo is exactly what was advertised. A huge strikeout king. No wonder the dodgers and Yankees gave up on him. This team is boring and listless just like their manager. The FO seems content with nediocrity.

Nice article. Polanco has done a great job fir the Twins until this recent series of injuries. Buxton and Kepler have become automatic outs. Not sure if putting Buxton out in center field will help his offense. But I must admit it couldn't hurt. He is just awful at the plate. Everyone talks about hiw great if an athlete he is and how lucky twins are to have him. Unfortunately we very seldom get to see him play to find out. 8 seasons from a supposed superstar that spends more time on the IL than on the field. And if he is too hurt to put him in centerfield then he needs to go back on the IL because he is hurting this team and has for quite some time. I've always liked Kepler but it's obvious he needs to go. Both Wallner and Larnach are better.

Glad we won. Just win baby. But it is funny how people think 1 win turns them into contenders. This is still a very flawed team. They need a win Sunday just to split the series. Did we already forget the two very ugly games and losses in the first two games of the series? Thus coming of a very good two game sweep of the Brewers? Tigers came to Target Field with one win in June. They had lost 13 of 15. Yet they outplayed us and had a pitc h er with an ERA over 7 stymie our offense. There is just so much missing not the least of which is adequate play from our veterans, barely hitting 200 and striking out a ton. Still not hitting, Buxton looks totally lost and Correa not much better. Kepler hasn't been a factor at all. This team us just a 500 team in a very poor division. They are in first place mainly by default. Does that make them a good team? Hardly. IF the lose today it would be nothing short of disastrous losing 3 of 4 to the Tigers at home. I do think we will win today. Go Twins!!

I'm still trying to figure out what Kepler has on the Twins. He, with a couple of other players need to be DFA now. People alway talk about Larnach having a sub par season. His 211 ba isn't good but is on a par or better than several players including Buxton, Correa, and Kepler. I used to love Kep but he's been pretty awful the past couple of years. Keep Castro!! It's hard to take the FO and manager Rocco seriously when they don't roster their best players.
-
What a pitiful performance by the Twins. Detroit had played a double header the previous day and lost two to Atlanta. They were the team that had to travel, not the Twins. Tigers only had won one game thus whole month. Yet they outplayed and out managed the Twins. They had more energy and drive. The Twins led 4-1 and had no offense after the fourth innings. This is exactly why you can't take this Twins team as a serious contender. They are too inconsistent and fundamentally flawed. Yes they may win the division, maybe not. And winning 3 of 4 against the tigers is the only acceptable outcome in this series. Splitting the series is palpable but not good. Anything less is disastorous.
-
The Twins are doing a great disservice to the development of their young core. They need to play everyday. They are doING their best, so it seems, on ruining their development and careers. If the players they drafted are as good as all the hype they've been given, they should be regular players. If not, then the people that are managing them, i.e. Rocco and the FO should be fired. Yes Kiriloff and others should play before the veteran under achievers we have now. This team us so poorly managed. Any wonder we have been floundering around 500 this year in a joke of a division. What they are doing clearly isn't working for the talent level they have. Something needs to change but most likely won't.
-
Who isn't frustrated or downright sick of the status of Buxton? He's been a part time player fir 8 seasons now due to injuries. Unfortunately he's one of those fragile players that's hurt all the time. I think he squeezed out more than a fair deal for himself in that deal. Not bad for a part time player that you can't count on.
-
Twins jacking around like they do with Larnach is another example of how poorly they develop and treat young players IMO. They jack around with Juluen, wallner, and so many others in the past. Larnach isn't great but I believe he us still second in RBIs on the team. It seems once they get here they play sporadically, are pinch hit for, or benched for some veterans that are grossly underperformed. I would take any of them over Kepler

What Do You Do With a Problem Like Miranda?
Whitey333 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Buxton is the problem. Every year it's the same. How many games will he miss due to injuries. Not being able to play center field hurts the team in two positions: center field and DH. He us NOT a good DH. He has hit only .177 since May 1st. But we can always Blane it on injuries like we have for 8 years now. Sometimes I feel like the Twins do their prospects a great disservice by not letting them play regularly once they are here.- 62 replies

Yes it's time to move on from Polanco. He's been very good here but hus injuries have mounted the past couple of seasons. But the Twins seem to have this thing about sticking with veterans too long and being known as a given for injured players to just continually rehab and collect a big league paycheck. Kepler and Pagan need to go and soon as well. It appears they are just taking up space and may be blocking the development of younger players. Polanco has been one of my fave Twins the past few seasons. But tge writing is in the wall.
-
Plain and simple Pagan shouldn't have been on the team this year. He has not been good for three years now. Too much whining about the call on Kiriloff. Yes it was close. Maybe tricky tacky. But it's his job to keep track of the pitch clock. Plus he could have simply called timeout. I don't think he had used his timeout for that at bat. I'm nit a fan of the umpires especially the home plate ump. The ball and strike calls this year have been a joke. Twins are always quick to blame umpires, bad luck, injuries or whatever is convenient for blown losses to deflect blame on manager and front office. Fact is they blew ANOTHER game this year that should have.been a win. These losses will bite them by the end of the season.
-
Garlick situation is laughable. You are counting on Kiriloff for the future but replace him with a guy that should not be on the roster. Garlick is an automatic out. His strike out rate is nearing 39%. If

The Clock is Ticking on the Twins' Roster
Whitey333 replied to Greggory Masterson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Twins need to make the changes sooner rather than later. We have some dead weight on the roster we could improve on. This team is at 500 because they are a 500 team. This team seems stuck in quicksand. We need an influx of fresh players with some life in them.- 32 replies

I love the comments on if we bring up wallner or Julien where would they play? Who would they replace? Come on this team is bad and going nowhere. There's plenty of candidates on this team.

How long is everyone waiting for the tides to turn and see this team go on a roll? It's been 2 and a half years. As I've said many tines. IMO this is the most boring twins team I've seen in60 years of following my Twins. They play undisciplined baseball with no drive or fire. Nothing has changed the last couple of years.
