I'm also looking forward to sleeping through the back half of some of the West Coast night games;)

One of my favorite memories when I was a ten year old……..laying on our old futon on our screened in porch and listening to Herb call games from Anaheim or Oakland with a thunderstorm rumbling off in the distance. Some 60 years ago……..

Jenkins needs to be in the lineup, keep running him out there.

i agree

At risk of getting ripped for my fandom again but I really don't understand the plan this organization has for its players,  If Jenkins is up here he needs to be in the lineup every day.  I believe we are potentially going to face another 3 lefties this week, so is Jenkins going to sit against every one just to get Martin in the lineup.  We know what Martin can do, he can come to spring training and fight for a job next spring.

HEY, our winning percentage matters! Austin Martin is the OBVIOUS pick in RF for the platoon advantage. Who cares about a top prospect developing at the MLB level

The “chase” for playoffs is the fat lady singing the 1st verse, throw Jackson in there everyday as we know what Caratini brings to the table (which is really nothing). Like me some Jeffers but he has proven his worth already on this sinking ship

Agreed. Martin has already shown he can play solid defense and face a lefty. He shouldn't be starting over someone who should eventually become the face of the franchise.

I would rather see Jackson  over  Jeffers  who not gonna be here next year ,  if Jeffers gets more than a 2 year deal ill be surprised,   his Defense is terrible

We don't KNOW that Jeffers won't be here next year.

And you and I have had as many plate appearances as Jackson has. I think they've also seen enough of him too.

Why? He's young maybe he needs an off day. You can't over work these players. On case you forgot everyone within this organization is human. I don't know why you can't get a grasp on that yet.

They just had an off day on Thursday, it's not that difficult, you play him every day for the rest of the season and let him learn up here.  You have no clue on what you are even talking about anymore.

Calling a single off-day 'rest' for a guy grinding through a 162-game MLB season tells me everything I need to know about your baseball IQ. This isn't a video game with fatigue sliders turned off. He’s trying to learn at the highest level in the world, and you’re struggling to grasp basic human fatigue on a blogging site.I’d love to explain how physical burnout and mechanical regression actually work, but thank god you’re sitting on a message board and nowhere near a front office. Let's worry about your learning curve before we manage his. Sit down.

Do you even understand why he is sitting, it is because a LH pitcher is on the mound and so they are putting Martin as a platoon, read the original post so you know what you are talking about.

Imagine getting this pressed over basic roster management. If you spent half as much time learning how physical burnout and player development work as you do obsessing over Day-1 lefty/righty splits, you wouldn't be leaving such embarrassing comments

He's been pretty worthless of late. I'll take Jackson. Don't let Jeffers get hurt and tank his trade value.

Explain how my comment is embarrassing, I am asking for a plan for what I hope is the future of the team.  Jenkins had Thursday and Saturday off, then played two days.  If that is burning him out, then we are trouble. but you are just pulling stuff out of the air and trying to sound informed.  Unless you are in the clubhouse you have no clue what he needs for rest.

As a fan, I have every right to ask for a winning team, something they have only done once in the last 6 years.  So doing the same year in and year out isn't working.

I am rather neutral on Jackson, at best he is our back up next year.  But I don't understand why not giving him at least a couple of games.

"What’s embarrassing is that you keep digging this hole. You want a winning plan but cry when the team actually protects their top asset. Walker Jenkins is 21 years old and the entire future of this franchise. Ruining his swing mechanics and destroying his confidence against lefties just to satisfy your mid-September boredom is exactly how you ruin a prospect. You claim I'm 'pulling stuff out of the air,' but you're the one playing armchair manager pretending a kid can develop under water. If you think the only way to build a winner is by grinding a rookie into dust during a lost season, you're living in a fantasy world. You don’t need to be in the clubhouse to understand basic player preservation—you just need a brain. And please, spare me the 'as a fan I have a right to a winning team' lecture. We all want to win. But doing the 'same thing year in and year out' doesn't mean you panic-play a rookie out of spite because the season went south. Throwing a 21-year-old into the fire against a tough lefty just to appease an angry guy on a message board is how bad franchises stay bad. If your vision for the future is breaking your best piece before the window even opens, thank god you are nowhere near this front office. Log off, take a breath, and let the professionals handle the future. Also stop with this I can get mad at the team bs and say abusive **** I really suggest logging off before you say something you're gonna regret.
