I know some people weren't big fans of the Twins September call-ups, but I liked them. Acton provides some long relief depth and was pitching really well at AAA and Ben Ross is a utility guy who plays an above average shortstop and can play anywhere on the diamond. It is exciting to see the Twins having 4 rookies in Jenkins, Culpepper, Gonzalez, and Ross all on their offensive roster.

Is Gozalez playing 1st base tonight? Royce looks tired like he could use a rest day. Josh Bell looks like he could use a blow, or a rest day too. He has played a lot of games in a row. Both those guys look like they could use a  day off their feet. No mini doughnuts a v bailable at game last night Very unusual.

I'd rather have Emma, but I'm fine with Ross. Need to find out whether he'll fill the Kreidler role next year or whether you need to hang on to Kreidler.

Kreidler can be a semi-valuable (cheap) part of a winning team, but if you've got a similar player with more offensive upside, there's no reason to keep him.

Why no Ross?  He's up play him.

It's probably as simple as Shelton wants to put out the best possible lineup until he deems the playoffs as beyond realistic (now, whether some of the guys in the lineup are the best bats at this time is up for debate). But when's the last time we've had the same exact batting order for 3 straight games? I'm not sure that's happened at all this season.

As if it were our choice... What can we do about it?

I found yesterday that being critical of Ryan Jeffers yielded excellent results.

I'm ready to rip on Royce Lewis and Josh Bell tonight.

Twins have never lost (4-0) when Gabriel Gonzalez is on the major league team!

Just noticed that there are a total of about 40 MLB position players with a WAR above 3.5. The Twins have 0 of those players. Buck (3.3) and Jeffers (3.0) are our only players above 3.0, and Brooks (2.2) and Kody (2.0) are the only ones above 2.0. The scale I saw says a 2.0 WAR represents a 'borderline starter' quality player. while a WAR of 0.0 to 2.0 (the rest of our roster) is 'reserve' quality. Not even sure what this tells us? Maybe what we already know... we're an average to below average team.

My conclusion is that we need better players who produce more wins!

Morris has been struggling the last couple of weeks.

Maybe this was supposed to be a fix.
