Brief attempt at optimistic pessimism:

IF the Twins lose this game and fail to make the playoffs, then this game will be a microcosm of the whole year: everyone might've expected them to keel over, but they've instead proved themselves to be a formidable big league club with real entertainment value and a lot of fight in them.

Wow, I take a walk around the A concourse at the airport, get a burger, and come back to see that I missed A LOT!

Different chain of thought...All our PR moves are getting faster guys on, but rely on somebody hitting and getting a run across behind them....I wish there was somebody who could just put pressure on the opposing team by threat to steal (ala Royals did successfully in the postseason run back in the days)

He did follow a single so I am not sure of your point.

I agree with you there.  It was Selig that nixed the original deal, which would have ended in a couple of years (2028 or 2029) had he been allowed to do it.  It was a deal MLB made to get McCourt to sell the team since he refused to sell the team even through divorce proceedings and bankruptcy.  MLB also made a deal, although not as lucrative, with the Wilpons to get them out of the Mets ownership.

There are more issues that need to be addressed than just this poor media deal that MLB made with the Dodgers.  They can't control that one so they can only do what they can control.  Probably not the best way of looking at it.

Everyone and I mean everyone needs to know the owners are always willing to f up in a major fashion and then go public with how the players need to save them from ruin.
