h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 9 Posted July 9 The ol’ “just that one mistake” narrative. Is the pitch still a mistake if it is the same meat, but the batter just looks at it or fouls it off or swings and misses or pops it up, etc..? Many more mistakes thrown that don’t get the same designation. And some are just absolutely on purpose and challenging the hitter. Claiming “that one mistake “ is always bogus in my opinion.

RpR Verified Member Posted July 9 Posted July 9 His first home runs as a pitcher, his first strike out, now all he has to do is hit his first batter.
Church of Kreidler Verified Member Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Aside from that homerun, Go did pretty well! I remain excited to see more from him, rather than full of fear as I have been for most of our other pickups... h2oface 1

thelanges5 Verified Member Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Good Ober, bad bats and bullpen. Don’t sleep on the Angels, they’ve been hitting some HRs and scoring runs lately. Western SD Fan 1
Twins_Fan_in_NJ Verified Member Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Shelton's been really, really good this year but the Rojas decision confuses me a little bit. Just got recalled. Let him maybe ease back into it. Go with Paredes - was his turn to pitch anyway. But, alas. h2oface and Western SD Fan 2
thelanges5 Verified Member Posted July 9 Posted July 9 A closer with 27 saves, we can only dream about that. Mortimerkenny21 1
Mortimerkenny21 Verified Member Posted July 9 Author Posted July 9 Two out of three was a better result than most of us expected. Sweep would've been great. I'm ok with two out of three thelanges5, Church of Kreidler and Western SD Fan 2 1
Church of Kreidler Verified Member Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Well, that was unfortunate... But, the Angels are up next! How badly could that go?! (Please don't list all the ways...) Mortimerkenny21 1

I had expected that he would come in today following Ober since they didn't use him yesterday following Prielipp. I guess he comes in this weekend for a short start. Would the Twins be crazy enough to give Joe Ryan a start off on Saturday and have Paredes make the start in his place? That gives Ryan extra rest prior to the ASG since I would expect him to pitch in that game.

The Great Hambino Verified Member Posted July 9 Posted July 9 The Twins were last at .500 when they were 12-12. Since then, they've had 4 opportunities to return to .500. They've lost all 4. Sisyphus was a Twins fan h2oface and Church of Kreidler 1 1

You can't have a pitcher who consistently walks at least a hitter per inning and be successful. Eddie G just gave up a walk and a hit every inning to seemingly just make it exciting, and still shouldn’t be a role model.
