Whammy Verified Member Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Obviously I have no idea what their plan is with Morris today, but I’m hoping it’s truly a 1 inning opener appearance. I like what I am seeing with him in that 1 inning roll. I’d hate to mess with the momentum he seems to be gathering with it. Twins_Fan_in_NJ, Church of Kreidler and Patzky 2 1
thelanges5 Verified Member Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Yesterday’s loss was really terrible and it’s hard to get that taste out of my mouth. But my mom told me if I didn’t have anything good to say I shouldn’t say anything at all. So, go Twins! Mortimerkenny21, Twins_Fan_in_NJ, Church of Kreidler and 2 others 3 1 1
Twins_Fan_in_NJ Verified Member Posted June 4 Posted June 4 I bet Morris for an inning and then onto Paredes. The Royals are pretty bad - but, so too are the Twins 🥲 David HK, thelanges5 and The Great Hambino 3

mrguy Verified Member Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Paredes as the bulk guy today is pretty much guaranteed, I assume they want to keep his schedule lined up with his St. Paul schedule so when Ober is back they won't throw off their rotation. Same reason he came in on Sunday to take up the bulk of that game despite being up to fill Ober's spot. Now that the last minute debut on short rest(Twins broadcast on Sunday said he had to fly to Pittsburgh at like 3AM and arrived right before the game) nerves are gone, I'll be curious how his control is today. Hopefully the offense can also make up for the fact that they're probably going to have to cover for Morris/Paredes and maybe Adams today in case things go south for the young pitchers Church of Kreidler and Patzky 2

They are going with 4 starters and winging it when the fifth spot comes up. Paredes is on an every fourth day schedule being a bulk guy, He is not a starter, they have one starter in St. Paul in Gallagher and he only went 5 innings yesterday.

I mean more in the sense that he's up in that bulk role because Ober is out even if they don't plan on using him as a starter. Patzky 1
Patzky Old-Timey Member Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Lest we forget, James Outman is still in the dugout.. well he's in CF tonight, but maybe that's better as Buck is DH. Bell is off, Kriedler takes SS after Gray's error fest yesterday. Win Twins! With Morrredes pitching how can we lose? Whammy 1

Royce Lewis at 1B and Luke Keaschall at 2B kind of boggles my mind, though. Luke seems like the one to just stand there and take the balls that are thrown to him. Linus 1

Look at almost every team at 1b , everyday guy hits for Power , Tigers -Royals -White Sox - all use the same guy , Twins are to much into position flexibility, and it hampers younger guys development, Let them all learn and grow together , kinda like the early 80.s and 2000 also, worked well then !! We don't know where Lewis will end up, 1B or 2B, or who knows they make him into a super utility guy. They have Culpepper at 3B tonight, he is not playing there if he comes up. That decision was made when Lee was moved over there. Lewis at 2B last night and 1B. Pick a path and let him get comfortable. You don't need a roster of utility players. They become jack of all trades and master of none. Having one or two guys that can move is fine, but they should be your bench players to give you flexibility to make moves during the game. mrtwinsfan 1
Western SD Fan Verified Member Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Hunt the Good! Paul Molitor is in the TV booth tonight! The Molly Hatchet Bullpen Danger Level: Definitely Flirting with Disaster -- Bullpen/bulk games are always dangerous as the best laid plans rarely work out. Here's hoping Morris can give 1-2 good innings and Paredes can give some length. Adams and Paredes are the only pitchers not used in the last 2 days. The Caratini, Kreidler, Outman combo at the end of the lineup is a Hell's Canyon level of a hole. Church of Kreidler and Patzky 1 1
