I feel Shelton is homing in on the desired opening day lineup here. A hard look at Kriedler today (Lee off) and maybe Gray tomorrow (giving Lewis the day off). Martin in means one of Outman, Roden, Larnach likely out.

Clarity won't be pretty but it will be coming.

Royce Lewis is at the top of the list of Yellow Flags (warning!!) on the expected roster.     He is followed by Bailey Ober and Trevor Larnach.      Those three hopefully show some proficiency in the final Spring Training games.

Yup, I think that is close. DH will rotate between a bunch of players and Larnach will retain his LF job for a while.

I don’t like this move but it’s not unexpected. Per Leach @mlb.com

Twins option Roden, indicating Outman will presumably be the LH half of a LF platoon.

New management still trying to make fetch happen with Outman.

This is really where the position player portion of the roster is messed up. If Outman actually starts in left field, it moves Larnach to DH and Bell, a poor defender to first, and Clemens to the bench. Personally, I’d rather have Clemens hitting than Outman. As a matter of fact, I think I’d prefer Martin in left field rather than Outman or Larnach against right handers.

Agreed. Martin should get an everyday run in LF to see if he can take the LF position by playing like he did the last 2 months of 2025 - .282/.374/.365 (.739), 11 for 15 on steals, and above average OF defense. My hope is the reason they chose Outman over Roden is so that Roden can get everyday ABs in St. Paul as next man up, waiting on the starters and/or Larnach to get hurt or fail. Outman should be the 1-2 day a week CF and otherwise not play. Larnach is the LH DH who plays rarely in the OF.
