Yeah, it does feel like that. And it might end the same way with moving him to the bullpen to try and salvage him, but that didn't work either.

The lazy assumption is to put a guy in the bullpen and their velocity is gonna jump a few MPH due to maxing out. Doesn't happen for all though. Ober's velocity dip looks permanent...

His Fastball maintained throughout the game and many of his off speed pitches were the same speed as his fastball.

 

He doesn't have a velocity problem.. he has a four seam issue.

Agreed. And I just don’t see how he gets reinvented as a reliever with his FB in the high 80’s with no gimmick frisbee slider or whatever.

Shelton has commented favorably about Buxton hitting second. I like Martin leading off, at least against left handers.

Zac Kent to start --   needs to start practicing his throw to 1b,  Twins pitchers had alot of these issues last year also !!!

Read on Bluesky that they wanted to get the relievers against the Boston Major leaguers and then bring Abel in later.
