  1. Edit: Bryan made me double post and I don’t know how to fix it.
  2. What you do is you tell Kepler and Rosario "Hey, if you see Byron going full speed towards that fence, you tackle him. That tackle will be better than him hitting the fence."
  3. Killebrew is 39 years old in that picture? You could have told me that he's in his 50's, and I wouldn't have asked questions.
  4. I work in a small office, and we'll be staying open. That'll be interesting. We work with a lot of doctors offices (dentists and pediatricians), and they are doing their best to get the message about how they keep their offices clean, and what to do if you're feeling sick. My oldest daughter's school is on spring break, and it sounds like they'll be back on Monday. That one makes me a little nervous, since they only have spring break every other year, so a lot of people head out of town on trips. Hopefully nobody brings anything back. My wife is also a teacher, but they haven't had spring break yet. They're also trying to figure out what to do to prevent everyone from getting sick. These are the types of things nobody plans for, and when you talk about them in meetings, it's when 75% space out, because "that's not gonna happen". Welp...it's happening (and not in the fun Twins way).
  5. I think it's a little early for him to get cut, but I think missing that camp time didn't help his cause. I agree that he'd definitely get some opportunities this summer, but going on Twitter and being pissed about it rarely is a useful way to go about it. Doesn't make them move you up faster, and rarely makes them trade you faster, since you won't bring back as much right away.
  6. Should have let my high school buddies work more concession stand dates. Wouldn't have had as many leftovers We worked one game and a guy walked out with 9. Ate them all. We became familiar with local gas stations on the way home.
  7. That was what I was nervous about, but I don't have a contract with Spectrum, so it worked out best case scenario. I was researching all of the different streaming services when we were going to get rid of Sling, and they were either cheap, or had what I wanted, and there wasn't much in the middle of the Venn diagram. I would use the whole year either way, though, since the two main things I watch are the Twins and the Wild.
  8. I just switched from Sling back to cable, since it ended up being about the same price to get cable and internet vs. Sling and internet (plus a better channel lineup). I don't get why the RSN's are such a pain in the ass, but the streaming services just aren't as great as they once were, IMO. When I first got Vue, it was cheaper and had all the channels someone would want. Then they got rid of 10 channels and raised the prices. Switched to Sling and they raised the prices, then got rid of FSN.
  9. Here are his Twins specific rankings: https://theathletic.com/1615856/2020/02/27/keith-laws-prospect-rankings-minnesota-twins/
  10. I'd watch any lineup at this point. I just want to watch baseball with the curtains closed, and pretend the grass outside my house is as green as the grass on the field.
  11. I don't think it should have happened, but I'm not stunned it did. A GM always wants to have their guy in there as the head coach. Bruce might have had a couple questionable player usage things IMO (make some adjustments to OT and PP units), but he isn't why the team struggles. Sieve goaltending is probably the main one.
  12. Quite a ballsy time to get arrested.
  13. I kind of got that feeling, too. It seemed like the more he was in trade talks, the further down his game went. I imagine it's really hard to not avoid that kind of thing, though. Tough to keep your head in the game when you could be moving a thousand miles away. I read that they will still be around in the summer, so that's good. They do a lot for the area. Hopefully Galchenyuk can help the Wild out for the rest of the season. If they aren't going to tank, I hope they get up to the first Wild Card spot, and play someone from the Pacific. I like their odds vs. that division better.
  14. I think they should get rid of the National League and American League, and just have one big league. Top 12 teams make the playoffs (same format as the current playoffs). Next 8 teams make a single elim tournament for an additional first round draft pick. I don't know what number pick you'd make it. Maybe that'd lead to less tanking. Then you're either building for the playoffs, or building to try to get another draft pick. Fewer teams trying to finish in the bottom 3rd of the league.
  15. Doesn't look like anyone posts in here anymore, but it's worth a shot I think the trade works out pretty even for both teams. Wild got a good pick and a good prospect (and Galchenyuk can be gone after the season). Zucker will do well as a complimentary player in Pittsburgh. @OhHiTony on Twitter posted that if the picks stayed as they are right now, it would be as many top 40 picks as they've had (combined) since 2016.
  16. I'd like to have some of the older guys get together and have half hour shows that run throughout the season where they tell old stories. Just three or four guys around a table shooting the ****. Put out a new one couple weeks. Then, we get cool old timer stories, and we also don't have to weed through a 3.5 hour game to get that one that will make us laugh.
  17. Only paper coupons you can print off their Geocities website.
  18. Barry is a friend I follow on Twitter, but I have him on mute so I don't have to actually see what he says.
  19. I think he'll be good insurance to have at AAA for if Sano gets hurt. Miguel is usually good for an injury or two during the season, so having Rooker around to come up would be nice. If he comes up, he can find some things to work on when he goes back down. Later in the season he could be a good 26th man, then, and it hurts me on the inside to say this, Astudillo can go to AAA.
  20. It's a really odd thing with baseball, where a lot of analysts and commentators are older guys that don't seem to enjoy the way the game is played now. And they make that very clear every time they talk about the game. So you watch a game and the older guy (like Bert or Morris) will bag on the players. Same thing for some national games, and I'm sure it happens on other local broadcasts. Three and a half hours of someone telling you that what you're watching sucks. Then they wonder why fewer people are watching. Would you go to a restaurant after watching a food network show, and the guys says "this broth tastes like curb water"?
  21. It will be interesting to see how all of the prospects move up and into the majors over the next few years, with the way all of the starters are signed to contracts for a couple more years. Either the guys on the team now will be moved for more pieces and these guys end up on the Twins, or the guys in the prospect pool could be traded for stronger pieces. Good problem to have, I suppose.
  22. I like Bremer. I think the newer color guys have helped him, too. Him and Bert start to get a little to much on schtick, and it gets old. The only thing good about Bert or Morris doing games is that I can catch up on podcasts while they're on, since I've got to turn the volume down. Smalley and Morneau do a good job. It'd be nice to get Perkins or Plouffe in there as well, as someone mentioned earlier.
