  1. None of the top 4. Baxendale was a 10th round pick by the Twins.
  2. Very aggressive. I write that as the absolute best case scenario. Would you think the odds are higher of late 2020 or 2021 if he keeps putting up the numbers he did this year?
  3. Blankenhorn's inconsistency is interesting. You can see the skills are there, but what makes those off months so far off? Badoo sounds like he would be a fun player to watch. If he keeps it up, he could do two levels again next year, and maybe be up by the end of 2019 (that's probably rushing). So much outfield depth in the organization, and that's never a bad thing.
  4. Pierre LeBrun just joined up with The Athletic. If this thing stays at $50 a year, I think it's a steal. (Annual buying is $4 a month, or you can do monthly for $8)
  5. I don't know, they did hire Aaron Portzline to cover the Columbus Blue Jackets, so it's possible they get him to start up a Minneapolis division. I hope it's not a specific team. I don't know that I'd follow him on Twitter if it was all updates on some team I don't care about. If he was national, I'd stick around.
  6. I heard of it a few months ago, but it was Toronto, so I didn't really care. Then a few weeks back Justin Bourne came back to writing (he wrote for Yahoo, then The Score, then he joined the Toronto Marlies as a video coach). That about pushed me into a subscription, but not quite. His system posts are really informative, and he comes at a lot of things from a players perspective. Then Rosenthal, who is one of my favorite baseball writers joined, and I about jumped in. If Russo went there, I'd probably sign up no matter what. I'd definitely prefer it if he was Wild focused, though. I don't even know who the Pioneer Press uses for Wild coverage anymore, and I can't imagine the replacement at the Strib will be great (I'll give them a chance though). I like to read about sports. That's why I come to this site, that's why I follow hockey writers on Twitter. I want to read interesting things. Video doesn't really do much for me. I watched the games. Unless your breaking down something on video that will explain a play or a player, I don't care. I'm not trying to watch videos of people talking about sports. If I wanted that, I'd watch ESPN (I don't watch any debate shows). This post went on far longer than I anticipated. I like hockey. Is it hockey time yet?
  7. That's a big loss for the Strib. Russo is a hell of a writer. I was thinking after I read his announcement that maybe he's starting a Twin Cities part of The Athletic. I'd definitely be spending the $5 a month or whatever for that. Not only to get Russo, but also Justin Bourne's hockey columns and Ken Rosenthal's baseball writing.
  8. Do you think his inexperience in baseball is going to make him the kind of prospect that plays an entire year at each level?
  9. Seems like something they'd do if he needed more rehab, but ran out of time, or he's going to the Miracle from the GCL.
  10. My plan with the catchers would be Garver and Castro splitting time the rest of this season, and the beginning of next season, then transitioning to Garver getting a majority of the starts.
  11. It's nice to see him taking off for a bit here. Seems like it takes him a little bit to get adjusted to a higher level, then he gets rolling. I guess that'll be something to keep an eye on as he gets further up the chain.
  12. I'm excited to see where everything goes this season. They could get into the wild card spot with a couple breaks going their way, and a one game playoff would be the most exciting Twins game in years. Win or lose, I can see the team moving forward in a positive direction. Absolutely, there are parts that need to be changed to become a top team, but a push for the playoffs would be a lot of fun.
  13. I could see Stewart left in AA for at least the start of the season. I'd also like to have Slegers get a couple starts for the Twins this year to see if he could fill a back end of the rotation spot next season. He has been solid this year.
  14. And they all grasp it immediately? He seems like the kind of player that wants to make the big play, and maybe it takes a little extra pounding into his head that he doesn't need to make the big play, he needs to make the right play. Eventually it either gets through or you can sell. I'd prefer to have him around, at least as the 4th OF. He has tools that are valuable on a winning team.
  15. Is that pretty much the same evaluation for Tonkin? Maybe the only difference is Tonkin was given more time at the big league level?
  16. He's the kind of player that will make you curse at your TV, both in a good way and a bad way. I like having him around, and he definitely brings something to the table, but I think he needs to improve his decision making. That should happen with more experience. He did play 2B for a couple years in the minors instead of the OF.
  17. I would have thought he'd be in the top 30. Maybe if he keeps it up next year he will make some lists. Seems like he has a lot of talent.
  18. Belisle didn't throw a couple innings the day before a double header. Hopefully in 10 days when Busenitz can come back up, they make the switch, though.
  19. I'd bring up Granite and make him the everyday LF. Rosario can come in and play 3/4 games a week to give the other OF a day off. Tricky, though, because he's a lefty and so are Granite and Kepler.
  20. I didn't even know that was a thing. I just did that, and it helped. Thanks!
  21. I need to start stopping the pages from loading all the way, too. Firefox keeps crashing, and only when I come to this site. If I can stop Flash fast enough, it usually works ok.
  22. My guess would be he starts in CR, but maybe gets bumped up to FM if he is doing well.
  23. Using the knowledge I've gained from 4 or 5 minutes on Youtube, I think I'm with you. If the Twins were picking 3rd, I'd want Lewis.
  24. Here's an article with some Molitor quotes on Vargas being sent down: http://www.twincities.com/2017/05/29/kennys-vargas-mn-twins-casualty-bullpen-troubles/
  25. Ol' Berrios is a modern day Eddie Harris.
