So the Mariners signed Mitch Garver on a minor-league deal but didn't invite him to camp? Yikes. I hope he either gets healthy or invested well.

He was invited.

Christian Vazquez signs a minor league deal with his former team... THE ASTROS.

Brings to 8 the number of former Twins catchers playing in major league camps this spring: Pereda, Garver, Gasper, Sanchez, Rortvedt, Camargo, Leon.

You need to put "catcher" in quote marks for at least a couple of those guys.....

Your post prompted me to look at his b-r.com page, which shows a 2026 projection.  What are the odds Randy at age 31 can put up 29 full innings in the majors with a 4.03 ERA?  LOL.

I can't see him back in the majors again at this point. He got shelled in another brief appearance yesterday. Too bad, I was pulling for him.

Yes, and just to be clear, I am not laughing at the player, but at the projection.

Here's my list of ex-Twins in the WBC (may have missed some): Puerto Rico--José De León, Willi  Castro, Eddie Rosario, Jorge López, Jovani Morán, Christian Vázquez. Canada--Jordan Balazovic, Edouard Julien. Columbia--Gio Urshela, Donovan Solano, Jhon Romero .USA--Griffin Jax. Mexico--Daniel Duarte. Great Britain--Vance Worley. Austrailia--Aaron Whitefield. Venezuela--Luis Arráez, Dominican Republic--Carlos Santana. Israel--Harrison Bader, Matt Bowman. Nicaragua--Erasmo Ramirez.

In addition, there is a "Designated Pitcher Pool", apparently pitchers to be added if the team advances. Included in pitching pools are José Berríos (Puerto Rico), Liam Hendriks and Lewis Thorpe (Austrailia) and Jharel Cotton (Great Britain) along with current Twin Joe Ryan. Dan Altavilla (Italy) is currently in camp with the Twins, as are former Twins Bowman, Urshela, Hendriks Buxton didn't play tonight, but remains on the Team USA roster. Taj Bradley was selected by Team Mexico, but opted out. Pablo López was chosen for Team Venezuela, but was replaced due to injury.

Ex-Twins on coaching staffs: Justin Morneau (Canada), Johan Santana (Venezuela), Jason Marquis (Israel) and Jacque Jones (Nicaragua).

If anyone has any additions or corrections, please reply and note the change.

Found this on Facebook. Original Twins Camilo Pascual and Pedro Ramos, now both in their 90s.pedrocamilo.jpg.05e050ebcc5b069c52ad56e7f5945bcf.jpg

Very cool to see those young men still grinning. But I have to say I'm not crazy about that Yankees cap! I assume that is Pedro on the right?

Yes. It would appear Pascual is on the left, Ramos on the right.

Say it ain't so, Jo (se).

'Blue Jays righty José Berríos has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right elbow and will not be ready for Opening Day, manager John Schneider announced to the team’s beat (via Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet).' attributing to https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/03/jose-berrios-stress-fracture-elbow-blue-jays.html

I still listen to Jay games when he pitches.

Ramos was forced to take the Yankees emblem off his cap while serving his 3 yr hitch in Florida jails. Wardens said, "No symbols." True, no BS.

When he was in Washington Nixon would send Ramos  a telegram when he lost stating “You can’t win them all”. He sent Nixon the same message in 1960

I'll put it here. Bobby Nightengale reports that Liam Hendriks has been released. Hendriks had an opt-out, so this would indicate he wasn't going to make the Opening Day roster.

I was reminded from a Facebook memory... On this day, March 21, 2010, Joe Mauer signed an 8/$183 million extension. $23 million AAV was wild at the time for the Twins... I guess times haven't changed in that regard.

The Farmer lives on. I have the game on MLB.TV. He is playing 3B for the Braves. That signing got by me.

Kiersey was in camp with the Braves too, but I assume he didn't make the cut.
