Anyone else tired of listening to the same stupid commercials on MLB At Bat. They really need to hire a marketer  who realizes that presenting a commercial 10-20 times a game is a major turnoff. (I am listening to the games as I dispatched cable TV more than 30 years ago). If I was watching I would mute the commercials, which was a response to the excessive number of sports betting commercials during the regular season

Cincinnati did not quit swinging from their heels at all that inning, not a very Tito Francona-esque approach...

I hate it. I think it’s more of a StatCast era development & front office thing—all front offices, not just ours. Swing your swing, maximize your exit velo. Strikeouts are ok. Yada yada yada. Ok rant over. 🙃

Last year we can’t review horrendous ball strike calls

That low strike 3 call on Bogaerts was the difference maker in that game. Should have been bases loaded.

Now that the divisional round is set, once again we see the top-seeded Blue Jays dealt a more difficult opponent than the 2 seed.

Should there be re-seeding after the Wild Card round?  I can't think of a good reason why not.  All the teams are on the same schedule and there's at least one built-in off day to handle logistics.  There doesn't seem to be a problem staging a Wild Card round with one built-in off day and even more potential matchup permutations leading up to it.

Personally, I think the top seed should get to choose their opponent.  Could be done right after the conclusion of the final series.  That could be pretty juicy.  But even simple re-seeding just makes too much sense to me

I would appreciate a playoff game update like we saw for the minor league updates every day during the season. I can't watch every game.

Re-seeding after the Wild Card round is a good idea, allowing the top seed to pick who they want to play, not so much (and could be really embarrassing if they lost to their hand-picked opponent)

The embarrassment is why it would be a good idea!

Also, the quality of the 3 seed can swing so wildly - sometimes they're essentially equal to the 2 seed, sometimes they're significantly worse than the 5 seed - because the worst division winner sometimes stinks.  But I'd be perfectly fine with simple re-seeding.  Or determining second-round matchups by record.  Anything other than the status quo of the top seed getting an opponent with a record 7 games better than the 2 seed's opponent.

Unfortunately the statistics are true. Over the course of a season the team that scores the most runs wins the most games. The stat most closely related to runs scored is ISO, and ISO is not correlated with strikeouts (i.e., strikeouts really don’t matter). The challenge comes when applying statistics that are true on a large sample size to a much smaller sample size. For the first round on the playoffs. Every team that advanced scored the most runs—except the Guardians.  The Guardians lost the series to the Tigers primarily because of very poor defense especially in the first game.
