h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2025 Posted October 4, 2025 Best thing that can happen to a Twins player is to get traded. At least then you might get to be in the playoffs AND WIN SOME GAMES, and even get a ring, as many traded have. Bader and Duran are really smiling, and look to have a great chance to play in the Series. Vanimal46 and Eris 2

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2025 Posted October 4, 2025 The early games were blowouts. Hopefully there’s a little more drama in this Phillies Dodgers game.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2025 Posted October 4, 2025 Bader with the sweet sliding catch in CF. He’s making himself known in this game mrtwinsfan 1
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 This is a classic Bader game. Now leaning in to get that hit by pitch
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 Can Philly’s bullpen hold up tonight? I wanted more drama and got it

Over the course of a season the team that scores the most runs wins the most games. The stat most closely related to runs scored is ISO, and ISO is not correlated with strikeouts (i.e., strikeouts really don’t matter). The challenge comes when applying statistics that are true on a large sample size to a much smaller sample size. For the first round on the playoffs. Every team that advanced scored the most runs—except the Guardians. The Guardians lost the series to the Tigers primarily because of very poor defense especially in the first game. You may be right. I don’t know. I am skeptical and I like to look at very specific situations. For example, stolen bases. The view from 30,000 feet is that you need a SB rate to be like 75-80% successful to be worth doing. But not all caught stealings are the same. There are the CS that run you out of innings, and there are the CS that come with 2 out and 2 strikes. Sac bunts are considered awful, until you need one in the late innings and the situation calls for it. Wallner may have a good ISO but how many of his dingers were useless late inning solo shots when the game was not on the balance? ashbury and Eris 2
The Great Hambino Verified Member Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 Is Julio Rodriguez bringing raising the roof back?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 My gut feeling for how this postseason would turn out is approaching zero, lol. Good thing I am not a degenerate gambler (gambling problems? Call 1-800……)
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 I would guess the Yankees come back and win that series. Toronto only has Bieber left as a pitcher and then will have to go back to Gausman for game 4.. Toronto has Scherzer but he has become a batting practice pitcher at this point.

I can only speak for myself but I'd most likely not be a Twins fan today if they missed the playoffs from 2002-2021 like the Mariners. I doubt I'd be much of a baseball fan in general. I was 11 years old in 2001. The Twins early 2000s success was a key factor into me diving into the Twins. My earliest baseball fandom was reading the box scores every morning to track the McGwire/Sosa HR race in 1998 Aggies7 1

Permanent Twins Fan Verified Member Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 I don't like having no automatic runner in the playoffs. I don't like the rule, but I think that consistency is important
