Jeff K Verified Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 I wonder if the Twins should look at the AA roster for their temporary starter. John Klein? Patzky and LambchoP 2

TopGunn#22 Verified Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 I agree Jeff K. Why does the SP have to come from St. Paul?? John Klein intrigues me. Good Size, smooth delivery hitting 97 on the radar gun. You need a guy for ONE spot start? AA is as good as AAA in many situations. Give the ball to John Klein. The Twins have never had a "Klein" on their team. Maybe it's time. LambchoP and DocBauer 2

LambchoP Verified Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 Wentz needs to be DFA'D. Give his long relief role in the pen to Adams. Sign Kyle Gibson to cover a few starts until Ober or Mathews are back. DJL44 1

Biomechanics are tricky things - if he compensated for the hip with a bad movement it could injure his arm which would be really bad. This... this... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand..... THIS!

D.C Twins Verified Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 Least shocking news in a long time. We literally ALL have seen this and posted about it for WEEKS
AKTwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 If we didnt lose Lopez and Matthews at the same time we probably would have put him on IL a while ago. That would have meant 3 of our top pitchers out. Call up a prospect to take his place or IF we tried to get Civale maybe we'd have another Veteran option. Oh and why on Earth we call up Funderburk? Idk what baldelli sees in him. Patzky 1
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 Going to offer up a crazy idea that might not be so crazy after all. What about Funderburk back down...I think he's just an extra arm for a couple of days...and bring up BOTH Adams and Ohl and use them as a piggyback duo? I know Ohl just got to AAA, but he's been really good at AA, has been somewhat on the radar for some time now despite a disappointing 2024, and is off to a solid start at AAA so far. There's at least a reasonable chance the duo might get you 5 innings. 6 is probably a stretch, but not impossible. I'm certainly intrigued by bringing Kline to from AA, but IMO this idea might make more sense. You could consider the recently added veteran Gillispie as part of a duo option as well, but I'd drop Wentz and add Ohl, and make the move I've suggested. Wentz offers very little unless the Twins think he's young enough to "tweak" as a pen option. If that's the case, find another way to add Ohl, or hope Wentz passes through waivers unclaimed. But I'd rather give a tryout to arms in the system, one already on the 40 man, instead of recycling another waiver wire option.

Glen Perkins had some interesting thoughts on Funderburk. He has good stuff, but was having trouble throwing strikes. They moved him more toward the 3B side of the rubber and he's been able to pitch in the zone instead of pitching across his body and missing. jorgenswest 1
