Hmm. Probably unpopular opinion. But I still don't think I like Cory very much. There's a difference between being excited and just yelling. It seems put on at points. Excited at the game tying single, incredible, love to hear it. Getting that animated on a single adding a 6th run in the inning, really diminishes his reaction to truly big moments.

I gotta concur.  I always have the oppo broadcast team on, unless it's Tampa.  Cory's toiled in the vineyards and paid his dues over the years, but he's no every day MLB play by play guy.   Always sounds to me like some guy who won a contest.

IMHO, the difference has been that we were treated to so many years of a broadcaster in Dick Bremer that grew up a Twins fan and had the childhood dream of being able to call Twins' games for his entire career.  Cory is a professional but probably does not have the love for the Twins that Bremer did.

I’m not ready to call this a negative 😂

Passive aggressive dis if I ever saw one. Total assumption, impossible to know as a third party. Shame on him for getting excited? I just don't like his announcing...... because I can.

I gave up after Raleigh's second blast (have you ever seen a worse meatball?) and headed over to the Strib for their postmortem...and boy was I surprised!

This, ladies and gentlemen is why baseball is the greatest game on Earth.

I guess I should have finished my thought.  I like Cory and it is only his 2nd year as the main guy in the TV booth.  Idk about anyone else, but for myself, I started watching Twins games in the mid-90's so Bremer was already a decade into his career with two WS runs under his belt.  I do think it's fair to say that Cory hasn't settled into the position and needs some time to develop.  Cory has done national games for Fox, Roku, as well as well as his years with the Big Ten Network so he is used to not necessarily being a team homer so to speak.  In other words, a professional broadcaster.

My point the other day. He’s better on the radio. Lapanta let the game come to the viewer.

Great win.

It doesn't help him that his usual partner is the charisma vacuum Morneau. But not even the exceptional commentator Plouffe can really elevate the play by play.

Which means you missed Ray Scott, Halsey Hall and Herb Carneal (they did Radio and TV) and caught the very end of the Hamms Beer Bear. Any reason to not like someone is fair, sometimes it is just a gut feeling, but to assign your rating of intensity of "love" or "pain", or any emotion, really, to someone else ....... not fair, I think. I don't like to listen to any of them these days. Radio or TV. Especially Hawkins.

Too bad there was only one Vin Scully "That ball was hit on a rope you could hang a load of laundry on."

Heh... I grew up on Herb, Halsey, Ray, (and sometimes the other Ray).  Those guys were the soundtrack to so many summers.  Bremer was a worthy successor, but since he left, it's like a void.  The Seattle guys today- great stuff- professional, astute, humorous, homer-esque, but called things fairly.  Knew when the umps stiffed the Twins on calls, too.
