NYCTK Verified Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Sounds like Mets might be throwing Justin Hagenman for his MLB debut. He's never really been a prospect, was a 23rd round draft pick, but one of those players that worked hard to get to AAA and toughed it out enough to finally get a call to the show after parts of 4 seasons. Good for him, and his opponent so beat up today they nearly look like a AAA lineup. Plus the attendance will resemble a AAA park. RpR, Cory Engelhardt and Patzky 3

tony&rodney Verified Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Twins need to get all over the pitchers today and Festa needs to throw quality pitches. The Tigers have 5 pitchers, their starting catcher, and 4 outfielders on the IL. Their team has taken a much greater hit on injuries than the Twins. No excuses. Players have to use their opportunities now. Sunny weather - beautiful February day. Win Twins. Twins_Fan_in_NJ and Patzky 1 1
shortround81 Verified Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 I wasn't sure if this was worthy of opening up a new thread, but I thought I'd ask it anyway. This is pretty inconsequential, but ultimately the FO/social media team have a certain level of obligation to still market this team. I check the Twins' Instagram page pretty often. Of course they're going to post videos of someone hitting a homerun, making a great defensive play, etc., but when a team is struggling so mightily, how often should the "fun" stuff be posted? I.E. "Who's the best dresser on the team?" I know they posted some off the field stuff in spring training when there was still some hope, but now would it seem tone deaf? Thoughts?

Twins_Fan_in_NJ Verified Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Have to start winning series. String together a couple of those and you can be sniffing .500 by the end of the month. Don't love the Twins when the opponent throws a 'bullpen' game but the offense has to cobble some runs together and Festa has to be sharp. Blyleven2011 and Cory Engelhardt 2
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 One bench player? Yikes Even for one game, I really think they should get another player up here and put someone on the IL if needed, either Correa based on recent performance with a chronic issue, or Wallner based on his comments (he said he “felt something pop”? or something like that) Twins_Fan_in_NJ and Patzky 2

Correa's said the wrist issue has been on-going since last year? If true, I don't see how he avoids an IL stint. Might as well get ahead of it and bring someone up. Hosken Bombo Disco 1

The fact he left an at-bat in a 0-2 count and they're trying to pass it off as no big deal is beyond bizarre to me. Twins_Fan_in_NJ and USNMCPO 2
Twins_Fan_in_NJ Verified Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Mets' line up is really top heavy. Not sure why they played hardball with Alonso this winter. They absolutely need him.

Which is why Vlad signing an extension is great news for him. The Mets will likely try to sign a similar contract but, again, as the premier 1B on the market, he should expect a bit more attention. Especially if he continues this unbelievable run he's on right now for any extended duration.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 16, 2025 Author Posted April 16, 2025 Pretty cool to see the Twins getting ahead of schedule and playing the likes of Ty France in the third slot. They usually wait until August to have that kind of lineup. Mike Sixel and Twins_Fan_in_NJ 1 1
