He started real well but has dropped to a simmer right now.

Best of luck to Luis Arraez. Had a collision at first base running out a bunt and had to be stretchered off. He's been released from a Houston hospital and back with the team.

Warning: Video of the collision is in the article:

I saw the video, did a he get hit in the head by the 1st baseman?

To me it doesn't look like it. On the surface it looked like a fairly innocuous collision, but maybe the jerky movement of his head when he hit the ground caused some concussion-like symptoms

One report said the first baseman's elbow came in contact with some part of his head, but I didn't read anything suggesting that was the definitive cause. Good luck, Luis.

Niko Goodrum announced his retirement. Goodrum broke in with the Twins in 2017.  He played for four other teams and signed minor league contracts with at least three more franchises.

Eddie signs with the Braves. It looks like he’ll have a major league roster spot.

Former top pick Chase Petty is getting his call up for the Reds. He'd been working on his pitches to increase his K rate starting last year. So far in 2025, it's started paying off. He's been averaging 96mph on his sinker this year. He's had some loud contact against him, and he's walked a few more guys to get to his 10.57 K/9 so far in AAA this year.

Petty's debut las night was epic.

2.1 IP, 7 H, 9 ER in 69 pitches.

He wanted to follow the trend of former Twins pitcher debuts after seeing Gibson's performance at Yankee Stadium.

Lots of ex-Twins transactions, plus Jorge Polanco is Player of the Week.

Kyle Gibson recalled to start his season with the Orioles. Gary Sánchez placed on IL, Caleb Boushley optioned by the Rangers, Luis Arráez will be activated from the concussion IL

Anyone else have Polanco as one of their favorite players. I really enjoyed his left handed at bats when he would catch fire. He carried the Twins a good many times when he caught fire over the years. Seems like a cool cat too.

Kenta Maeda DFA by Tigers

Sad, but not a total shock. He hasn't been very effective the past year with the Tigers. I really liked him when he pitched for the Twins. I hope he still has something left in the tank and can pitch again, but at his age it's looking unlikely.

His contract isn't even the worst one on the Tigers books.

I wonder what happened , as he is just as good as the average journey man, both bat and glove.

Yeah, that didn't last long. I figured that Gordon would get a chance and stick with another club at some point. Are there some other issues that we haven't heard about?

He started real well but has dropped to a simmer right now.

Now his on base percentage is .341, highest of his career.  And his OPS is .796.  his stats will go down and then they'll go back up again and so on.  He will have an ok season in Philly.
