Notice the difference in bullpen management.  The Guardians have roles for their pitchers, Gaddis isn't pitching in the 5th inning, he is the set up guy.  We try to match up every hitter and then run out of pitchers by the end of the game.  Irvin should have been left in and now Sands is done and Varland will pitch one inning.  Get ready Tonkin or Blewitt to pitch in a tie game.  And they will have Clase and Smith to pitch.

You also see it in the lineup construction. Notice how Josh Naylor hit against a lefty? No way we would let Larnach get the ABs to gain the trust to hit against lefties. We’d have to pinch hit Margot because the numbers say so.

What is the inspiration behind this nickname, if i may ask?

In the early 90s during the Pirates heyday, Jim Leyland would have Gary Redus in either center or right when Van Slyke and Bonilla had days off.  My dad, a big Pirates fan, gave Redus that name because of some of the misplays he'd have in the field.

Whether he likes it or not...and he probably better start liking it...Louie is significantly better out of the pen.

Or bye bye Louie

There's a 1960s movie with Peter Sellers called "Dr. Strangelove".  And in  the '60s a bad fielding player on the Orioles -- Dick Stuart -- was nicknamed Dr. Strangeglove."

And with that lineup construction, their players always know which slot they're going to be in the majority of the games.  As opposed to our manager who picks names out of a hat to slot them into a lineup.

The moment Cleveland tied it, it felt like the Twins were down by 10 runs.

The series has been close, but we just cannot put them away!

He pitches all the time he has 70 innings pitched on the season Gaddis has 77

And they're both 1 inning relievers. As is Cade Smith, and Herron.

All of Clase, Gaddis and Smith have more IP than any Twins reliever, too.
