MMMordabito Verified Member Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 That could have been so much worse. The fielding really needs to tighten up, especially when you're getting BABIP'd.

RickOShea Verified Member Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 Rocco needs to cancel the morning golf round for the guys and hit the field for outfield defense practice. mrtwinsfan 1

Schmoeman5 Verified Member Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 Martin and Castro have each made a half dozen questionable plays this year. That's a lot considering they're not starting every day. Terrible OF defense on display. USAFChief 1

Jocko87 Verified Member Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 This will be a good game to refer back to when Buxton comes back. Even if he isn't hitting, this stuff will be cleaned up. MMMordabito 1
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 What a sad at bat by Jeffers with Martin on second. Takes the first pitch no movement fastball middle middle, and swings at two consecutive change ups, one way out of zone low, and one the perfect low outside corner. Many would call the first pitch a mistake by the pitcher...... but you have to at least swing at it.

If only Martin would have spent some time focusing on playing outfield, where it was obvious he would wind up playing in the majors... instead, only 81 games in the minors played in the outfield compared to about 160 in the infield. And it was obvious from the scouting report when we acquired him. wabene, joefish, Jocko87 and 1 other 4

RickOShea Verified Member Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 Why don't any of these power hitters hit the dirt, once in a while. Pitchers continue to groove pitches or pitch off the plate. It seems years ago guys like Killebrew, Schmidt, Mantle, etc always had dirty uniforms. USAFChief 1

joefish Verified Member Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 Martin is gonna hurt someone in the outfield eventually I hope it is only himself, and not someone else too.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 Technically, by rule, almost every pitch Rodon is throwing in the stretch is a balk. He has "happy feet" as they say, and lifts his foot up off the rubber after being set, sometimes twice, before he throws the ball. That, lifting foot off the rubber, is by rule, a balk.
