RpR Verified Member Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 This umpire has an expanded strike zone, it seems.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 70 pitches in the 6th Rocco. Better pull him to be consistent.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 I quite like this version of Simeon Woods Richardson. The version I've seen in the past, not so much. IndianaTwin, mrtwinsfan, Craig Arko and 1 other 4
Danchat Verified Member Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 6 innings, 1 run allowed is a heck of a way to start the year for SWR. Very encouraging, as it is highly probable he will be starting more games this year. Many more. Craig Arko, Mike Sixel, wabene and 1 other 4

I'd probably send SWR out for the seventh but it's entirely defensible to pull him. He's a young starter that shut down the Tigers offense, get him off the mound before things unravel. It's not a ridiculous way to look at the situation. IndianaTwin, Mike Sixel, SD happy and 5 others 8

stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 SWR done after 6. I approve. It isn't like this is a guy with a ton of big league experience. The question is, will he stay or go back to St. Paul? Mike Sixel and wabene 2

He has been terrible but it's 50 plate appearances. I was leery of the signing due to his age (and I watched him a lot with the Brewers in 2023) but it's too early to even think of cutting bait.

IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 I’m usually a “I’ve got no problem with Rocco pulling the starter” kind of guy, but given the doubleheader situation, the three-run lead and being at 80 pitches, I’d let him roll. No more than two base runners and have someone ready, but if he can sneak the seventh, that would be spiffy heading into tomorrow. (But I also have no problem with being satisfied with six.) h2oface, Brock Beauchamp and mrtwinsfan 3

Cruising. Bullpen almost empty if they implode. Of course it will get a mostly traditional acceptance. But pisses me off he doesn’t even get at least one batter to see. That curve is nasty.
