stringer bell Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I hereby award Max Kepler the Twins’ hitting Triple Crown. Kepler will lead the club in homers and RBI and while just short of the required 502 plate appearances, would lead the club in batting average using the criteria that MLB uses to determine if a player qualifies for the batting championship. IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Up by 2 touchdowns in the 7th inning. I think it's safe to say we'll win this one, but am not predicting a final score.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I would be including Funderburk as a second lefty in the pen, but I wonder if those two home runs off of Thielbar makes the case too
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 OK, Caleb. Get it out of your system now.

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Seattle is not yet eliminated, contrary to what Dick has said on the air. However, if Houston's 1-0 lead over Arizona holds up that will put Houston in and Seattle out. Also, St. Louis has eliminated the Reds and put Arizona into the postseason. Hosken Bombo Disco 1
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Ball sure does fly in Colorado. Must be the fresh air. Interesting how little the thin air seems to affect curveballs from Caleb Thielbar. Still a long, slow arc. He could probably slow it down and fool even more guys. The extra speed difference might even make his fastball look faster. Dallas Keuchel's slider didn't look that bad, either. Betcha he could make the adjustment just like Thielbar, and then do pretty well in Colorado. I see the number one requirement for a Rockies prospect: Must be able to hit baseball over fence.

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 The Texas win also puts Toronto into the postseason.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Also tonight, Detroit clinches 2nd place in the AL Central. Alec Baldwin will deliver the set of steak knives in person in a pre-game ceremony sometime in 2024. wabene and Mortimerkenny21 1 1

As wabene said, Framber Valdez may pitch tomorrow for Houston regardless. If Houston hangs on and wins tonight, they could catch Texas for the division, although Texas’s opponent Seattle would have nothing to play for. If Houston loses tonight, they will need Valdez to pitch and win to finish ahead of Seattle for the tiebreaker. wabene 1

stringer bell Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Rockies still need a touchdown and two-point conversion.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Keuchel is having trouble adjusting to the thin air. His game depends on spotting the ball very precisely, which he isn't doing right now. Boom, boom, boom. I'm guessing Varland will blow them away with his heater.
